Hi All,
If you are an owner of 1 (or more) of the Marbon Arabian's please post a pic up :-)
I am a friend of Diane's and think it would be lovely to dedicate a thread to her as she has made the brave decision to sell all of her horses and retire.
I too would love to see recent pics of the foals I met years ago and to hear how they are all getting on.
Also if they have been used to breed it would be lovely to see the descendants.
Look forward to seeing and hearing all about your beautiful horses :-)
Regards,
Sarah x

This is Marbon Maestro, not the best pic but it's the only 1 I can find on this computer.
He was my baby (although Di still owned him!) I loved him like he was my own and never cried so much when the vet found a huge tumour in his mouth just a couple of days after this was taken. There was nothing they could do so he was put down July '05
RIP Maestro Man :-) xXx |

I too know Di Ellis & wish her a very happy retirement in her new home in Hampshire. She's going to miss her horses . Have to say I love the first pic shown of Marbon Medina - what a smart mare - lovely.
Good Luck Di.

I agree!
She has bred some exeptional horses over the years, it would be lovely to see a few of them here or even some information if you can't upload photos.
All the best for the future Di.

I remember maestro and the red box reminds me of the time she invited me and someone else back to hers after a show so off we went followed this box was not till we arrived at the stud did we realise we had followed the wrong red box the other people saw the funny side and invited us to see there stallions haha we did eventually get to see Di's stud and have known her ever since this was some years ago now ! wish you well in your retirement Di |

Hi everyone, The filly's proper name is Marbon Musical Moment and the colt has just been registered as Marbon Mosaic. My last babies to carry on the stud's name. Thank you for all your kind wishes. I am going to find it hard without the horses. Marbon Masadi is going to be broken and I hope will be seen out on the ridden circuit in the future. G.Forgetmnenot and her family just don't want to leave me it seems and a friend in Chard has offered to have them for me whilst I sort out where I am going. |

I am the proud owner of "Silver" aged 6 full name Mellway Silver Magic by Naresh/ MARBON MELISSA. I bought him from Di nearly four years ago and we have never looked back since. He has a beautiful nature and has brought me so much pleasure coming out as a 5 year old winning at County Level and being a HOYS finalist in his first year of trying. I wish you Di all the best for the future and I will keep you posted as always on his achievements. All the very best to you. Gill & Peter

I was very fortunate to purchase the lovely mare Marbon Melissa with this year's stunning colt foal Marbon Mastarcraftsman from Di Ellis. They are both 100% crabbet. The foal's pedigree can be seen on http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/marbon+mastarcraftsman . Photos below of Melissa & Mastarcraftsman taken 17/4/2011
I'd like to thank Di for all the lovely horses she has bred over many year's and wish her a very happy retirement.
This is my first post and I'm not sure if I've added the photo correctly. I'll post some more photos when I've seen if this works! |

I've obviously done something wrong as the photo has come up as a link rather than showing the picture itself. Perhaps someone can tell me what I've done wrong! My photos are on Photobucket rather than Flickr. |

Thanks Indalo - he's growing really well. I'd love to be able to keep him, particularly as his sire Mastarifah (pictured above by Pauline) has just been gelded in France, but I already have his mother and full sister.

Another pic of Mastarifah, such a shame his new owner has gelded him, although he is now much more relaxed & a contented gelding! His 3/4+ brother is still entire and stands at stud in Belgium, producing some equally as nice foals & also making a name for himself in the endurance field, so all is not lost plus Mastarifah has some very nice pure Crabbet progeny bred by Di in the UK & also several in Denmark !
All the best for the future Di! |

Thank you all so much for your best wishes. I still have G.Forgetmenot and her son by Masadi, Marbon Mosaic, who I hope will find a showing home. Masadi himself is with Steph Zebadee being broken so he can hopefully come out under saddle in the future and still be available to cover mares. His stock so far are real quality and the filly owned by Susan Oliver has already qualified for the Crabbet classes and was at Malvern last year. His last year's filly, Musical Moment, is with Carole Gardne, who I hope will train her and bring her out in the future. Mastarifah's last colt is with Margaret Jones in Derby and she has put a pic of him on here; she also has the yearling filly by him, Masalla. Pam Flowers has the fantastic Mastarpiece also by Mastarifah but out of Marbon Mead, full sister to Marbon Melissa. My thanks go to Carol and Richard Carpenter who found Shuhira(Shirar/Istashra)for me; my lovely foundation Crabbet mare and dam of my fabulous brood mares including Moet with Robin and Wendy Carr. In all she produced 4 colts and 6 fillies.
