This is Patron (Aswan x Podruga) - an immensely important stallion in that he was the sire of Padron who again sired Padrons Psyche, founder of a dynasty of horses. Patron raced successfully for two seasons - his racing record 2/23(7-1-6). One of Patron's other sons, Abdullah was World Champion Stallion and he in turn produced another World Champion, Amal (ex Naomi). Those must be good genes!!!!
Patron
Abdullahh
Amal
Padrons Psyche (ex Kilika)
Padron (ex Odessa)
Padron was, of course, not straight Russian. He was a prime example of the excellent cross between Russian and Crabbet/OE lines, and Padrons Psyche was the result of crossing back with Russian lines - a superb blend of Arax, Aswan and Priboj sirelines.

Jude,
Do you have more pics of Pobeditel? He is such a lovely boy and judging from the offspring I've seen (both live and in photos) he breeds very well indeed. You should know If he is as good as his dad (and I think he may be) he has a very bright future ahead of him. Would love to know how the Russians are using him and if he will be shown this year or the next.
Anne
Just one more of Balaton

I'm hoping that this is my gelding Nawaabi better known as Axle, hope Vera sees this she asked for me to update how we did ages ago, she's probably forgotten now but here he is at just short of 95% Russian blood with a fab mum whose name I can never spell known to me as Nunu but Deano will say her full name I'm sure, so another vote for Russians and 2 of my other 3 have some % of Russian blood as well!! |
Regards, Sapphire

Wow, I really love that mare Cereniza by Kubinec! It's really great to have all these photos of Russian legends, and like many already said it's very addictive! Someone talked about the Russian/Crabbet cross, of course Padron is a great example, I could also mentionned Warandes Plakat! I have a 2 years old colt from Padron/Warandes Plakat lines ( 3 times Padron and twice warandes plakat )the rest of his blood line is mainly Russian. I really appreciate this lines because of their attitude and movement, plus they are usually great horses under saddle. Here's a pic of my colt

This is Kalinka, correctly called Kalinka 7.
She is by Kubinec out of Nida(Naslednik x Naina) Straight Russian, although go far enough back, we have Crabbet, Polish and Egyptian on her dam side and Polish and Aswan(Egyptian) on her sire side

Hope no one complains about this

Here we have our half Russian, AV Montoya, who is by WH Justice out of Metelica 8 (Balaton x Marica)
We admire the Russian side of him greatly and feel he leans more to this side too, especially in movement.

I hope no one is offended by this post

Thank you Anne, for posting pics of Piligrim. Is there other pictures of this great stallion out there? Please...
Kalinka - I have said it before, but I will say it again - she is wonderful, I love her! And her sire is the greatest of them all IMO |
