I've recently gotten hold of copies of Pieces of Perfection and The Damlines of Tersk. Miss Evans is mentioned in one of them as being the first person in the UK to import Russians and I was just wondering what happened to her and her horses? Did she breed any of them on? Is she still around?
Thanks |

Wow, this whole thread is breathtaking. The photos are wonderful and I'd be a very happy woman to have any one of these horses; not that I'm not happy with the ones I have - I'm very grateful for them. But every picture makes me say: "God I'd love that horse..."
Women's rugby Jude? Nothing wrong with that! The only rugby I played was at college during rag week. It was a game of women vs men and the only rule was (invented by the lads) NO HOLDS BARRED... Anyone remember rag week? |

Jingo - thanks for putting Naftalin up - he is Plum's (Plumbum) grandfather on his mothers side. Kash - although I have pictures of Panotmima with her babies - do you have a picture of her? She is Plum's mum and I can never get enough. The russian mare book you mentioned can you tell me who it is by and where did you get it |

Here is an old one..this is September Gold who I understand was the only 'Straight' Russian bred by Miss Margaret Evans, she was foaled in 1966 and by Listopad(Pomeranets x Laba) ex Speshka(Priboj x Sofa II)she was not pretty by todays standards but was typical of Proboj. Miss Evans told me she bred her to be a big colt for her to geld as her riding horse but she got a small filly instead!! I bought Goldie in 1982 when she was 16, she was my first Straight Russian horse . She's 18 in the pic and has her '84 filly at foot by Pamir(Arax x Piramida)
