TOMOS : It would be lovely to see pics of the lovely Alize on here again. I remember when she was a young filly and Gillian thought about buying her to come and join Aureme in Scotland. |

I got into Arabs through reading about them but the horse that first captured my heart was Dr June's stunning Egyptian-bred Latifah...I saw her father The Shah win his BNC the following year at Ascot and for me there was no other horse on the showground!
I was lucky enough to be owned by Latifah's daughter Lutfiya for 28 years, and we still have her great-nephew Marimbah by Eileen Tatam's Marawan EAO

Lovely photo!
We have 1 Aboud daughter, Rose Aboud. 3 Aboud granddaughters all out of Zaphelia - Zillion (her first foal), Ziadah, and Zou Zou bint Zaphelia (who is the spitting image of Aureme). 1 Aboud grandson Oscar out of Rose Aboud - but we've bred 4 grandson's including the one she's undoubtedly carrying! And finally 2 Aboud great grandchildren both out of Zaphelia - Sweet Dreams SR who will be out showing again this year with Ryan Jones going for her 3rd Futurity win in a row, and her ickle yearling colt brother Cezah who is delicious but looking for a new mummy/daddy
I guess you could say for us it was ABOUD!!! |

The stallions that I was lucky enough to meet and got me into arabs were Silvadoris, Oran/Silver Magic, the majestic Rajeyd Ludo/Silver Ripple and the fairy tale Bakir El Sabah Argos/Zarnuqua.

Aboud is the sire of my mare Celestial Silver (sadly deceased when her colt was 8 months) the youngest full sister of Chanele and Charisima. Although it was Benjamin I always loved, although always loved Arabs from a youngster before I started school. My old highland gran used to quote the poem "My beautiful, my beautiful that standeth meakly by" or similar The Arabs farewell to his steed.
Anyhow, Celestial Silver left me a lovely colt, which I still have. Photos show Celestial Silver, then with her foal and as he is now as a yearling colt taken this week.

Thanks Cate and Lucytoo for posting these wonderful photos. Does anyone else have any which also show the fabulous "Aboud Style?"
Rosemary, Riaz was another of my favourites too! |

From a young age it was arabs for me, but not because I'd seen one in the flesh, it was more down to the fact that I was an avid reader of the Jinny at Finmory books!!
The horse on the cover of these books was what did it for me and I found out years ago that it wasn't a mare, but a stallion on the front cover!! |

The 1st arab I ever met in the flesh was Razireb by Ayton Rebel, he was my local riding school's daughters horse. I think I was probably about 5 years old when my Dad treated us to weekly riding. Rebel as he was known was kept in the top yard which was out of bounds to us riff raff lol but the daughter was nice and used to take us to his stable and make him laugh at us....that was it for me hook line and sinker
Many years later and completely by chance I bought his Grand Daughter, Georgia who I've recently just had to say goodbye to at the age of 26

Oh Kirst, you wee darlin'!!!
What a fantastic picture of Aboud, I think it is just about my favourite one of him. Thank you for posting it and starting this lovely thread.
Doesn't the glorious Gillian look absolutely fabulous, what a beautiful and incredible woman she is.
I remember years ago it was your gorgeous Aboud related boy that caught my eye at the Scottish Group Show and we took loads of pictures of him. Years later when we finally met, I knew I recognised you from somewhere (the pics!!)
'Aboudlings' definately have something very special about them and I think that Buffy has a lot of him in her. Will try and find my photo of Star of the Seasons and get OH to put it on here.
Loving all the pictures, keep them coming!!

Someone mentioned having a picture of Aboud the year he arrrived late? Would love to see it again. He looked absolutely amazing!
The horse that did it for me, well 3 as I saw them all at the same time, were Esta Espashan, Ibn Estasha and Eldon. The absolutely blew me away, never seen anything like them. They definitely had the X Factor!!

Loving all the pictures of this special family.
Here is one of Star of the Seasons (Buffy's dad and an awsome Aboudling!)
Sorry about the quality, OH took it off a small print. I have a better one but can't find it, yet....
It looks like we have the same hairdresser!
