Fee, It was her who put the quote *if you cant afford her dont ring* not us!!
Seems to me you know this person you are getting all defensive over it when lots of people think the advert is uncalled for, well what she put was.
Nobody has said they want this mare on the cheap!!!!!!!!

Have to agree is downright rude, whether it was meant or not is another thing.
If people don't want 'timewasters' and the like they should be clear what they are expecting, that isn't too much to ask is it? Otherwise how are you to know whether or not you can afford the horse. Could have been £5000 or £15000.
I think almost everyone is in agreement with that...understandably. |

Have to agree with others, she could of put a price or offers in region of and worded it so differently. If she has had problem with or doesn't want time wasters why then put if you cant afford because surely a lot of people would have to phone to waste her time to find out price to see if they could afford it
I do love a good debate on here. We obviously all have our own opinions on how we interpret things

A little bit rude but certainly daft. As said above, no one could possibly know whether or not they could afford the horse without phoning as no price was stated! A simple "£XXXs, no offers or loans" would have done the job. |

Pauline I am challenging what you and others are saying. If you prefer to call it attacking then I am 'attacking' what you and others are saying because you are all assuming she is suggesting you all cannot afford her horse and this may not be the case. Nothing personal, if someone were throwing unwarranted and unfounded accusations at you and I felt they could be wrong I would challenge it. Kazzy, hope that also answers your suggestion, I dont know the advertiser abd don't care who she is or who is making the challenges. I will, do and will always challenge things I perceive to be wrong, possibly wrong and/or unfounded and unjust. Nothing personal you understand. I challenge the words and/or actions. Hope that fully explains my stance and all previous comments on this thread.
Pop, it sure wasn't you who won

I just can't believe an ad on the sales pages could generate a FOUR PAGES thread!(and I guess it's not over yet) I understand what Fee means and agree with her.If you don't like the ad,skip to the next, simple! |

I can't believe this thread has been allowed to run The seller paid for their horse to be advertised on this website and then this derogatory thread is here. Disgusting. As for comments like "the horse looks nothing special", there are many who would be up in arms if someone posted that about their horse! Rude and inappropriate = this thread! |

Well said eeyore so glad someone else sees all this the way I do. Personally I don't think threads about other peoples adverts should be allowed to be started, unless it's the owner of the ad and they get permission and ESPECIALLY when it's derogatory as this one has been.

Someone has had a sense of humour bypass.
Someone is having reading difficulties.
............. getting far too condescending.
So, anyone who thinks the advert was rude, and has commented as such, must go directly to the naughty step.
Although, so far, I have not said I thought it rude, only implied that it was illogical, pointless ... blah blah, I would like to join those on the naughty step, so, ha, I think it was rude. FCS

Rude or not, it's monumentally bad marketing. Bad marketing creates a bad image, and bad images *stick*, deserved or otherwise.

OK, so I've got a problem - maybe even more than one - but I still find it rude and offensive. My opinion. I think the fact it ran for 4 pages speaks for itself. |

Debs, yes, of course, there must be prizes.
1st Prize is a special 'cloaking device' which has three options, OFF, Deflect Bul**it and Deflect Rudeness.
There is a consolation prize for the guess which is furthest out: An afternoon with Ali.
I think there should also be a prize for the rudest remark about rude remarks?
So, please nominate for your 'Rudest remark about Rude remarks' winner.
I know who gets my vote Oh god, I do hope someone will ask, I'm just bursting to say
P.S. think we might get to 5 pages?

Pop, all I want to say to you is this..... Your witty sense of humour OFTEN brings a smile to my face when I read your comments & today, (with me feeling particularly P****D off with the constant rain we are getting all day/every day in North Lincolnshire at the moment) has been no exception....think it was the first time my face cracked a smile all day when I read your above contributions! Many years experience owning & riding my own horses. Fell in love with Arabians at 11 years old when given a ride on "Trevallion", a 3/4 bred who was a livery where I worked as a stablehand. I have never forgotten that ride, Thank You Yvonne- should you ever read this!I now have 2 beautiful purebreds.

Phew, was about to burst
Well, at first I rather thought I could vote for myself. However, it really wasn’t my best work, and it was all getting a bit bizarre so there was some amusement slipping in, took the edge off my rudeness really, so, and in all honesty, I think it unfair for me to vote for myself. And of course I have already won the prize of Ali for the afternoon, so I guess it’s only fair to let someone else win something.
So, and please don’t take this in a rude way, it’s just an objective observation; and I must admit to not having really noticed either party, for which I apologise, I didn’t mean to not notice either of them; and I promised to pay more attention in future.
Shall I? erm, oh well, what the heck. I found the remark by Alison seemed to imply that Glo was not really looking for a horse, which in tern suggested that she was untruthful, and I thought that was quite rude, quite rude indeed.
Of course, if I misunderstood the remark, then I will just have to choose another, but unless I am guided to greater knowlege, I will stick with that vote for now.
Anyway, it seemed that way to me, we are all different, and can often view things in different way.
In truth, I would not have said the wording in the Advert as rude, I would have described it as Arrogant and elitist.
Hey, ladies, yes, you on the naughty step, I think you can go now; its all mine
Hey; chill
No harm or offense or rudeness, direct or implied was intending in the creating of this post. And I would certainly hope that certain people think and consider all the possibilities of why I say this so that no one becomes upset, or indeed confused.

I see a couple of posters have returned after being absent for a while, I'm guessing the third will be along soon. Sadly the old holier than thou vein is still pulsing and may have me losing the will to log on. Having said that it's worth it to read pops comments, by the way, did you ever manage to steal the golden horse. Hope you didn't get caught and are not posting from the slammer.
