Hi all,
Ooooh I love Micologia - wonder where she is now?
hahaha lucky me, i found one who was in love with her on the first vieuw too; Micologia is sold to the biggest arabian horse breeder of Greece, superb friend and great personality, Costas Georgantsis.
and then a bit explanation of the brands in Russia: Tersk branding them on the right backside and Khrenovoe is doing the same but on the left backside ( just under the saddle) in the past horses had 2 times two numbers, like this:
32 83
the last couples of years Tersk brands them like this:
2301
as Willem explained you ( Hi Willem, welcome, as long as somebody gives you the right tips ) the first number is the foaling number and the second one the year of birth; how the do it with the foalingnumbers?? not the oldest ones has the lowest numbers as you might expect, but the stallion from which the name is first in the alphabet has the lowest numbers; example: if they have 10 babies of Aspirant ( hahahah just an example, lucky not the truth ) then these 10 babies in order of birth has the foalingnumber 1 till 10. They brand the foals on the moment of weaning; they do it with nitrogene ( very cold) which brands as good as with high temperature; the advantage of nitrogene ( cold brand) is that you dnt get scares and the hairs which are touched come back in the white color, so much better to read and because of no scares and wounds you can use smaller figures.
Yes Willem you need to translate your site but before you do that u need to change some texts which are not true; the russians did not enter Poland and took the arabian horses; the polish people run away when Hitler entered Poland and they walked with many horses to the east and ended up in the northern caucusus, at Tersk and yes indeed they never gave them back. But ok we talk about that.
I guess Jude is on holiday to the Maladives
hahahah maybe Chris would but , unlucky him, he has a wife with horses; where i heard that before??
Wish u all a great evening
the Kossack Stud www.kossack.com Robbie
PS: hahaha and i was so fortunate to ride Almaz and as all Naftalins, just perfect.

Lovely to see some different photos of Almaz I think Polenzia most have taken after her dad a bit then as she also was a lovely horse to ride, she also had the most comfortable paces of any I've ridden.
Robbie, you don't happen to have any photo's of Poliana when she was a young mare. When I got to see her she was an older broodmare and it would be nice to see how she looked when younger.
Thanks everyone for sharing your photos, keep them coming. Kerry. |

Haaaaaaaaaaa Robbie you do make me laugh
Maldives - now wouldn't that be wonderful but hey I have too many photos to post on this site - just sitting back and giving everyone else a chance Sorry Chris is just tooo busy at work at the mo to get away but in TWO years time, we plan to explore
Willem - you are so lucky to have seen Grand in person - I can only imagine his beauty/temperament etc thru my boy (who has the most wonderful nature) How lucky we are to have these special children, who breed on so well
Thanks Robbie for the insight into the numbers - I thought Verbochka's 1 meant she was the first foal of that year - but now must have been Balaton's first foal of that year. |

Yes Robbie, if it wasn't you who gave the tip about the Tersk horses in Belarus I would not have bought them. Then I would not have this horses, heaven on earth but maybe then I would have had some money But to be honest; I am grateful to you, also to have seen so much horses and I still do as a almost neighbour of The Kossack Stud Thank you for reading my site so carefully, I don¡¦t recollect were the information of Mammona came from, I think her site, but I will change it if I can find time to translate the site. Wonderful photo¡¦s! I like Podboka, half sister to Padishah

Willem - how beautiful the pics of your horses in the "hollandse dunes" . I too was lucky to have seen Grand in flesh, a very dry, "aegyptian type" horse. He must be still in Italy together with Karnaval I suppose?
Whow Jude - your Marcipan daughter Verushka is really a beauty ! I love your Pritcha too, she is so sweet; I have her on video, she was so sad at the sale, but now she must be happy to be with you.
And yes, Robbie, the Naftalin's are some of the best riding/performance horses and they pass it on to their offspring
Wish you all a happy Easter - and Robbie: All the best for your Open Day! Ivana |

I AM WRITING THIS IN SHOUTING MODE ROBBIE I DEFY YOU TO COME TO ENGLAND TO VISIT AN ASPIRANT BABY THAT THOROUGHLY RUBBISHES YOUR DESCRIPTIONS OF HIS PROGENY'S TEMPERENT! THE HORSE IN QUESTION HAS BEEN BRIGHTER AND SWEETER THAN OTHER STALLIONS PROGENY I HAVE HAD AND MET COUPLED WITH LOOKS THAT HAVE MELTED MANY'S HEARTS. I WOULD HAPPILY HAVE ANOTHER ASPIRANT SIRED HORSE, AS THE ONE I HAVE IS THE EASIEST WE HAVE EVER HAD. I HAVE MET MANY STALLIONS WITH DIFFICULT TEMPERAMENTS AND YOUNGSTOCK WHO INHERIT THEM, PEOPLE SHOULD ASSESS A STALLION IN THE FLESH BEFORE THEY USE HIM AND WHERE POSSIBLE SEE THE YOUNGSTOCK, SOMETIMES PEOPLE EXPRESS OPINIONS FOR THE WRONG MOTIVATIONS - ie. A PREVIOUS FALLOUT! |

Rishah I can only imagine how wonderful Grand is - his son has the most wonderful bone structure on his head - even more dry as he gets older with a wonderful low eye set but his eye sockets are really prominent, deep jowl and the tiniest of muzzles - he does have a very short head as well (which he seems to pass on to his children)
Veruchka is a very special and beautiful lady - she will eventually join Toman's hareem We have another Marcipan daughter at home - Preia (x Perspektiva) haven't any decent photos of her but she is definately one to watch in the future. Hey did Marcipan leave any colts before he returned to Russia - he is sadly missed and I feel an under used stallion Thankfully the stock he left in Europe will carry on his genes |

Well.. now I must say to be proud of our Valaam; Marcipan x Varna ( out of Vspyshka) And he is my favourite, really love his character!

Valaam fooling with Depozit, 99% brother to Marcipan but he looks like his father Parusnik

I AM WRITING THIS IN SHOUTING MODE ROBBIE
dnt shout and dnt shoot!!! it is just my opion abouth Aspirant children and sorry i had the most here so i know where i talk about. And offcourse from every stallion there are coming good ones, so urs can be nice too, no discussion but "in general"they are too difficult. And .... no surprise as Naslednik ones are about the same, no horses for the general horse lover.
Judith: a further explanation of the brands as i guess its not cleat yet: when they use for example: Aspirant 10 foals Balaton 15 foals
then the Aspirant ones has brand number 1 till 10 and the Balaton ones 11 till 26
all in combination with the year if birth.
hahahhaha Ivana Jude calls you Rishah, lol and thanks for the good wishes for the Open Day tomorrow; real russian weather tomorrow, the forecast is snowfall
wish u all a great Eastern
the Kossack Stud Robbie
PS: heyyy Marnix ( called "the kleine Kneet") good to see u here too and yes u where one of the smart ones to use Marcipan and after seeing his production, well some regret it not having used him too

Thankyou Willem I alway wondered what Parusnik looked like - ok full bros are not always the same but having seen pics of Melodrama and hoping that Gepard is something similar I can see a lot of wonderful traits passed on to Marcipan
Many many thanks for sharing

Willem - dunno which sire or dam but presume related to Parusnik/melodrama ???
I would say he has the LOOK, the short coupled body, low set eyes and small muzzle with turned back nose, limbs and bet he moves like the wind
Let us know the breeding PLEASE but after everyone else has their input
Haaa don't expect a reply from Rob at the mo - he will be clearing the snow from the drive at Kossack |

Vazal Khan is by Depozit x Varna; http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/vazal+khan
As I live almost next to Robbie I can tell you there is no snow at the moment. But he will have to get up really early in the morning, don't know how things are then. This morning I had to row row row your boat to feed the stallions
But we had our third foal this morning, the third colt of Depozit! |

How very interesting that Vspyshka and Parusnik are siblings But the rest of the pedigree is very special - look forward to seeing how this boy progresses.
Can't imagine Robbie in a rowing boat
Congratulations on your latest foal - we have a week or so to wait for our first one |

Robbie so i obviously have 102, what went wrong after that - were they trying to add good influence onto more difficult mares? |
