I have just polished off Bubble and Squeek with leftover turkey in gravy.

It was DEEEEEELishous.

Does anyone know how bubble and squeak got its name?

Also how do you make yours?

I mash potato with veg and then fry in butter until golden brown.

I think it got it's name from the way it bubbles and squeaks as you fry it.

I make it much the same as you. But with LOTS of black pepper.

That's what my lot had for Boxing Day dinner minus the gravy (doesn't seem to go with B&S to me), it's the law for Christmas veg leftovers.
Normally I would have it too, it's the only day of the year I have it, but I missed out this year as my tum didn't feel up to it! Don't know if I overdid it with wine or Christmas lunch (possibly both), but I woke up feeling very icky.
