Congratulations Heather, Richard and not forgetting the man of the moment - Spirit. Like Fyonah I saw him at the Nationals as a yearling and was awe struck by him. I have my own special Spirit daughter now and wouldn't mind another. She is beyond my greatest expectations, thanks to your special boy.

What a wonderul result for Heather & Richard & of course Spirit too!!
Can vouch for this result as we have the first Australian baby by Spirit, now just over 3 months old, who is our pride & joy!!
Cannot wait to breed to him again next season, roll on August so we can start!!!

We are so proud that we have one of his offsprings and hope another in 8 weeks time. We knew as soon as we saw him he had the making of a CHAMP. Three cheers to Psyche!!! |

The more you look at how well Spirit's stock have done in the show ring, especially as he is so young and with so very few on the ground, it seems he has the beginnings of being a great sire to go down in the history books. The next test for him in the long-term picture will be to see his grandchildren but I do feel he will be there with all the greats!
IMO, Spirit has such a beautiful dam . Sweet Emotion is very correct with a good leg in each corner, excellent length of neck, lovely head and eyes and lay back of shoulder. She might not be a winner in today's show ring but is a wonderful type of mare to produce great offspring down generations as she's very hard to fault. She is a singular type of mare that you don't find too often. But that's just me being into the importance of dams and dam lines  .

He is lovely but we must not forget that the mare is just as important, as Jingo says. We do tend to expect great things from stallions and forget how important the mare is.
I have known people in the past use a stallion who has produced fantastic foals try with a mare which was not suitanle and then have been very disappointed.
Hope Spirit carries on the good work. We need a few more like him. Would love to see him under saddle. |

Hey Heather, thanx for posting the pix. Spirit is looking fantastic and oooohhhh that movement.
Hope you are going to let him come out to play somewhere this year, and any chance of another open day to see your wonderful horses and of course not forgetting the babies??
Must be so exciting for you to see your breeding programme now come into its third generation - well done!!! (and more pix please) |
