I live 5 minutes from the sea and always used to ride on the beach. Very addictive and definately soothing!

How wonderful to be able to ride along the beach. I've never done it and unlikely to now.

As for this beach cam link, I don't know why I bothered as it seems to have stopped working!!

I have riden on the beach several times on other peoples horses and only once ion my old mare, about 3 years ago. The beach is only 10 miles away, would do it more if I had some one that wanted to come, sounds like I have no mates, but with work and home life it's hard to fit it in, especially as I have miles of off road riding on the door step.

I like the long canters, but not as brave as I used to be so I think it would be a walk and trot hack now

I love the sound of water, we are lucky that we have a stream running through our garden so if the bedroom window is open you can hear it through the night, i find it very calming. I have just entered an egb ride at Druridge Bay, Northumberland which is on the beach so looking forward to it , i hope my new girl likes the sea

I live on a big tidal river: the sound and feel of the flow, the rolling waves and the splash of the water against the hull is my constant companion. The barge sole (sea-speak for floor) is moving in flat circles as I write; I automatically move in balance to compensate. The dog and cat do the same.
When it is rough, we retreat to the large collective bunk, put up the lee-cloths (fabric 'cot sides' which prevent being pitched out), and wedge in, safe and cosy. The barge is a sturdy vessel, built in 1897, for the fierce tides of the North Sea: I've rebuilt her, including a new hull, in the twenty years I've had her, and although rather underpowered, her 1930's engine will also keep us steady if it really starts to blow.
We are allegedly 80% water, so it makes sense that we gravitate towards it. I feel bleak and beached if away from it too long.
