I was there at the venue on the Sunday and Tuesday. I saw Pauline's horse going out at the initial vetting, I wanted to go and speak to her but it wasn't a good moment, and anyway I felt too shy.
Fantastic new venue on the Exford showground, loads of space, great views. I thought the whole thing was really well run, there was a nice relaxed atmosphere and a generally good vibe about it. Of course this is purely from a spectators point of view, I'm sure, like any event, there was frantic paddling going on behind the scenes by the organisors. But they hid it well!!
It's REALLY got my endurance head on again, even if I only ever do some low level stuff. I took a couple of horsey friends with me who have never got involved with endurance, and one of them is particularly keen to make it her sport now.
Congratulations to all the riders and everybody working there, a thoroughly successful event. |

Hi Sue
Mydass seems fine. I had my vet come out on Tuesday to see him and he found that he had done something to his R front Knee will know more on Tuesday when he is xrayed.
Will give him some time off hard training and just walk him out.I flexed his knee this morning and he did not make a fuss so I think things are looking up.
We had a good journey home. We went to the beach on the Sunday and had a nice meal in Dunster.
My other crew is fine thanks Just waiting for her mare to foal.
IHDG is Intelligent Horsemanship (Monty Roberts).

Linda Kidd's Russian Tersk, Ocherk, pre vetting.
Court Farm Arabian's stallion, I think it's AH Saluq.
One of his babies, 9 days old.
Arabs from Broford Stud, these have had a full season hunting with the Exmoor Staghounds.
Pre vetting
Pam Jordan's Oriele the Gold.
I think this is David Yeoman's Eleazar De Landas, but I could be wrong.
The young lad who was riding, and darn it I can't think of his name...sorry!! |

jp it was Boconnoc today, did it last year and it was absolutely fantastic, was really p.....d off to miss it this time but thought it was too soon after our little incident at Taunton. you should put it in next years diary, I know it doesnt have the prestige of the GH but absolutely guarantee a superb ride and spectacular venue.we just need a spare hoist or two to winch us on and we will be at it for years to come |

My friends are crewing at Boconnic today, hope all goes well for them. I actually tried to do the ride two years ago, but was vetted out at the start, Ali decided he wanted to hang about the venue and enjoy the pleasent surroundings while waiting for his friends to return Am thinking of Cirenchester next and attempting a ER, a mass start could be a tad worrying JP |

Re: Cirencester & ER I think you have the 15mins to start, so them you can hang a bout and take a quieter start.
I worked ot the Long Walk, although never did it yet..Sue |
