Just to remind everyone about the Crabbet Parade to take place on 20th June 2008 at Cirencester Park.
Message from Caroline Hooker who is masterminding this initiative.
"Thanks to the Cirencester Ride Organising Committee, we have a venue for a parade!
Please can people who would like to bring a horse(s) to take part contact me (pm, email or 07960 418121 eves) with your horses details (if email photo would be nice). Places are limited to 20 horses, who must be at least 75% Crabbet, and are proven endurance horses. A selector will choose which horses will take part in the parade which will take place early afternoon on the Friday (20th June) of the Cirencester Ride. I hope this won't leave too many disappointed, but as we are fitting into a major ride's tight schedule numbers had to be limited.
The Crabbet Organisation have kindly donated a rosette to every horse who participates. The horses will parade in family groups, with a commentary (breed lines & achievements) detailing each horse. I also aim to have a couple of notice boards with pictures / breed details of horses who may not be able to attend or are 50 - 75% Crabbet for spectators to look at.
The plan is the parade is late enough for riders competing on friday to have finished & be able to watch whilst awaiting their paperwork, & early enough that competitors involved in the Summer Solistice ER can watch before their vettings.
Time is short, please support this initiative. If you know of any suitable horses, please contact me or show this to their owners. I need to have a final list within 4 weeks in order for the commentary to be written. The criteria are minimum 75% Crabbet & currently / have previously competed in endurance (even at novice level).
Hopefully I'll now be inundated (please!)
Caroline"
