I lost my 17 year old Jack Rat in February and swore I wouldn't replace him, 2 dogs is enough for any household! Yesterday I broke my promise, I work for a vet and a 2 year old Mini Poodle came in to be put to sleep, his Dad has cancer and naughty poodle had taken to biting the Nurses when they came to care for his owner. I'm a soft touch so home he came with the consent of his owner who was devastated at having to make such an awful decision for such a young lad.
Roland or Roly is a fab Apricot Mini Poodle with 3 legs and he has settled into the household very well, asking to go out for wee's, playing with my shnauzer and staffie and not in the least bit interested in my cats or ferret, and sleeping on the bed!
I took him home yesterday which would have been Russell's birthday, must be destiny

Lynn, and you said i was a softie with my recent rescue
Sorry to hear you lost your Jack Rat. Roly sounds like a bundle of fun and has certainly landed on his three little feet going home with you Lynn. Sleeping on the bed already, he sounds a right cheeky chap. Well done you for giving yet another pooch a lovely new home, you're a star!

Ah that's lovely. What a lucky chappie. I hope he brings you lots of joy.
We rescued a staffy x last week. He's lovely, apart from trying to play with the cats. But we're working on it! |

Thanks for your well wishes, he's a super little chap. Left him home this morning with the other 2 dogs and I came home to a tidy home Well not in the literal sense I mean he didn't do the ironing or hoover the house but at least he didn't wreck anything got a huge greeting from everyone then they settled down again quite quickly altough our Staffie (neutered rescue) has taken to trying to seduce the schnauzer (also neutered) at the height of greetings and excitement |
