Awww, thank you!!
It's always good to hear someone likes a picture ~ if I can make someone smile, then I'm happy!
I'll take that as a compliment ~ the picture looking "old" ~ yes, I know what you mean. I try to always make them "classic", timeless ~ particularly with a special horse. I try to make them appear as if they have an air of "history" about them, as if the horse ( or person for that matter) really deserved to be immortal.
Mind you, everyone who wants a horse painted wants them immortalised, and rightly so!
If I can get that "look", then I've managed to do my job.
That really is the nicest thing anyone's said about my art recently ~ apart from commissions, when I have an advantage in that they love their horses to start with and it's great to be able to reflect that feeling in portraying their best friends and thankfully most people are pleased with the results!
Thanks again!

Hi Wyllow,
I used to do paintings too like that. If I could paste photos I'd put some on here. Perhaps we ought to get together for an exhibition!! |

I work 3 days a week in a Health Spa! My title is Sales Consultant..........I basically work within the Spa Shop advising on skin care and helping clients with any other needs. I am qualified as an Aromatherapist, can do Indian Head massage, Facials, Skin Scanning (via a special machine) and Allergy Testing. I also do promotion 1 day per week for Darphin (French Skincare Company). This is where the Skin Scanning comes into it! I do enjoy my job..............but like everyone else the pay is not brilliant. My ideal job would be something like a vet nurse, but since I didn't take Biology in school, I don't see it happening!!!! On the plus side I have lots of free time to enjoy both my horses and the real big bonus is I get lots of free products to use on my own skin! |

I am a senior PA in the Home Office and work with HM Inspectorate of Constabulary - we inspect police forces in the south of England. Very interesting job but, as Vera says, pay's not great when you're a Civil Servant (but 30 days' annual leave compensates somewhat!).
Wyllow - your painting is gorgeous, what an amazing talent!

We are a diverse lot! I am Head of Banking & Savings for a major financial organsiation. I have full Profit and loss responsibility for £86 Billion of savings balances(11 million customers) and 4 million current account holders. I manage all of the products and processes end to end (I have a large team of people who help!). It is extremely challenging and requires huge amount of influencing to get things done right across the Group, but it keeps me out of mischief and on my toes watching what the competition is up to whilst trying to maximise our returns! However there are times when it is a thank less task and I am always glad to get away to the sanity of my horses. It does pay the bills and we can't knock that! |

Hi
I am the Racing Administrator and the English Commentator for the Racing & Equestrian Club in Qatar. On a normal day I work from 8-12 and then 4-7 in the evenings. In my spare time I work my riding horses, see over the endurance & race horses that we also have in the stable yard.
I spend most evenings out in the stables untill about 11pm, just being around the horses makes me very happy.
Living out in the Middle East is gr8. The horse world here is very close.

I run a boarding kennels and cattery----all the profits go to rescuing animals. I've got over 40 permanent residents and always have dogs and cats looking for homes. I don't generally rehome smaller animals ---they just stay at the sanctuary---because I hate to see animals kept in smallcages and they can have a better leife here.http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/clocks/kennels.html |

I am an Archaeologist, although I am museum-based now as I am too old and creaky to do the digging thing anymore.
I research in Iceland and am a Research Fellow in Reykjavik, my main ambition is to stay at home and play with my horses and not have to work at all.
I am also Trustee of a Spanish Horse Charity and have forsaken Arabs to breed Spanish horses, although I am sure a little Hispano may be in the offing! |

What a brilliant variety of peeps! I am in my final year training as a clinical psychologist, which means I get to do the job 4 days/week and spend one day at Uni. I absolutely love my job and it's very rewarding being able to help people who have sometimes suffered for a very long time with mental health problems. And it helps pay for the beasts!
