Hi I wonder if anyone has any info on this mare i have just bought, she is a bay arab known as Shirah but is named Asheer in her passport, this is a British Driving Society passport. She was foaled in 1998 so is 16. I am told she has AHS papers though the previous owner has never had them so this may be wrong. Her only owners in the passport were Pilgrim Horse Rescue, sussex in 2005, this apparently closed several years ago so there is a big blank in her history as no subsequent owners are recorded. She is nervous and was rescued about a year ago by a lady in Sussex who then rehomed her to Manchester in May and I have just taken her on as the owner couldnt handle her.She is broken to ride an drive apparently, is very frightened of her legs or feet being handled so much so that she needs sedating for the farrier. I would really like to know anything about her history, am going to try the AHS but am more interested in her life than breeding/bloodlines,any help appreciated, thankyou

Apart from the AHS themselves, I can only suggest checking the AHS studbooks for 1998 and a few years previous/after, in case the birth date is wrong, since it would appear she has been re-passported, so the DOB may be a guess. Also her name may not be the original, or be spelled differently, used to have a prefix etc. Would posting a photograph of her be possible, in case someone recognises her? I take it she is not microchipped? If she is then it might lead you a previous owner. |
