I posted on the forum at the end of last year about the fact that the AHS would only register our filly as "Sire Unknown" despite DNA and the fact his offspring are exported around the world. It made her look like an accident and not the product of lots of research and decision making. Rosalyn Serex from Solaris Sport Horses, who owns the stallion, took over when I gave up and negotiated with the AHS. I was a bit upset about the (unlicensed) as I knew why he was not but Rosalyn said "In all fairness very happy as it stands, they have their rules and I found the AHS very supportive and helpful regarding this matter and have thanked them for the time taken to consider alternative solutions and glad that the society recognised the advantages of having an animals parentage shown, one of which prevents inbreeding in the future which could possibly happen should an animal change hands. It also helps monitor how successful the parentage is when known"
