I dont understand people, no animal deserves a story like that attached to her life. Bless you, Donna for rescuing Anna and giving her a forever home. At last she can have some love in her life. Why do people use animals as status symbols. |

That was like reading Black Beauty all over again; something I did as a child but could not bear to do now. Thank goodness Anna has found her happy ending with you; bless you both. |

Thanks everyone, I just hope that she does learn that food WILL always arrive, and that her friends have not run away and Indy does not disappear into a black void each time he walks into his stable.I'm in the process of getting an older pony broodmare that hopefully will keep her permanent company, if its small enough it can live with her, whether in stable or out. I'll take a pic of her tomorrow, but please everyone excuse the mud that she has layered on herself lol. I stand no chance of getting it off and its too cold to bath. |

i agree with all that has been said.. particularly the comment from Garnet, it is like reading black beauty again. Well done to you and lots of love to the special lady herself. I am reminded of the preface in my edition of that book "my doctrine is this, that if we see cruelty, or wrongdoing that we have the power to change, and do nothing, then we make ourselves sharers in the guilt.." I am looking forward to seeing pictures too |

im glad anna has found you she deserves the love after the horrible life she has had. Give her time and she will learn to trust and not to fret. We had a pony that had a terrible life before we got her and two years it took before we got to where we wanted with heart ache and tears along the way. Looking forward to seeing her updated pics. |

Well here we are - updated pictures, as I said please excuse the mud, she prefers to be out so this was her first thing this morning when I got her in, she also was dancing so not exactly the frozen pose lol!! Before and after

and rear view before and after

For those with sharp vision you will see the lump on her neck where it had been broken and fixed itself. My vet said if this had been treated immediately then there would have been little or no over growth of the bone, but as it had already semi healed we decided to leave it. |

She really has recovered well - I know how hard it is to get condition on a horse that starts off in that state - Well done! And hugs to the dear girl in question |

Really glad you found her. You've done great with her.Its very sad how bad experiences can affect horses/ponies.... the fear they must have felt....still many of them are able and willing trust someone else.Give Anna a gentle rub between her eyes for me ,lovely old girl! |
