Nichole,
In answer to your query re. Whitsonmonday Sirprise. His dam Hallelujah Marantha is by an Anglo named Beau Brown, who was by the Arab Stallion Radfan out of the Thoroughbred mare Conville Beauty. The dam of Marantha was unregistered, and was called Shekinah Glory.
I'm sure that I am not the only person who remembers Beau Brown! |

This was the Beautiful and Talented Taragun at her penultimate event last week. She has now retired after an amazing career as a performance Arabian.
This is my favourite photo of Evie and Taz. And they say Arabs can't jump!!
copyright: Chris Lax Photography
And forgot to say that Evie and Heron de la Forge (French Anglo Arabe = British Part Bred Arab) have been fast tracked through to Junior Regional Novice - they have been getting consistent double clears inside the time and are having a whale of a time!!! Heron is a 16.3 absolutely amazing horse and he really has taken over from Taz as Evie's soul mate.

Huge Congratulation Taz, you have certainly earned your retirement You have relentlessy and successfully flown the flag for the Pure Arabian Together with Evie, you have certainly been a formiddable Team....and what you have achieved together, is certainly an enviable record, by ANY standards of competition in eventing circles. Incredibly well done Evie and Taz...great ambassadors, both!!
Look forward to the future with Taz as a Mum and Evie stepping up into the Senior world on the event circuit.....Good Luck with the new Boy in your life
Just Love the pics

Love the picture of Taz and the new boy is settling in well!
Lets hope that the baby Taz has the talent of its mum and perhaps we could have another GB team member in a few years

Found this on the net. it was taken by a Horse and Hound reader at Burghley a couple of years ago!
It is Statham Sabu. PBA by Fairlyn Gemini out of a little 14.2hh TB mare who had no papers.
I think its a cracking picture!

Well, Evie and Heron have now completed their first Novice event.
Here they are in the show jumping:
These fences are only 6" smaller than those at Badminton. Evie won't be old enough to compete at a 4* event like Badminton for another 4 years.
Nicky, Ranger looks brilliant and Statham Sabu has a cracking event record - a real act to follow!! |

This wonderful thread is certainly proof, if proof was ever needed that Arabian Bloodlines are the ultimate versatile all round show/performance horse whom, all "others" strive to achieve.
They are out there in EVERY sphere of equestrian competition and are not just a "single discipline horse"

Same here Nicky.....like nearly all the more senior dedicated Anglo/Part Bred Arab Breeders.......we are well past our "sell by date" and can only hope there are "up and coming enthusiasts", who will become dedicated breeders of our diminishing stock of Top Class Anglo Arabs, for future generations to enjoy. Maybe Evie and also your daughter Nicky??

Definitely Babs! We've all fallen completely in love with the Anglo - so trainable, so talented and just sheer quality.
'fraid to say my little herd of Arab mares are all now to be partnered by TB husbands and I'll be buying a couple of TB mares for Cresh to play with!!!!!
Thanks for the comments Nicky - the course was enormous and that's putting it very mildly!!! Usually the courses we compete at are fairly standard with the fences on the top of slightly undulating ground but this used the whole landscape and the fences were part of it - like a 15 foot scramble slope down to an open ditch with running water followed by a 15 foot uphill scramble and over a skinny hedge right at the top! A serious course and I'm so glad that they completed! 25% of the competitors didn't! |
