Hello - I'm new to Arabs but have just bought a 3yo described as a grey Anglo Arab with registration to AHS. She wasn't bought (or sold) as anything special and I bought her to break and then bring on for my daughter.
Silver Spirit herself is a lovely girl, very sweet natured and cuddly. Although she's a bit spooky she wants to be good and will always go and have another look. She seems to have done very little so we're just "playing" with her, teaching her about domestic life. She was born chestnut and is now mostly grey with the odd cluster of chestnut hairs. She's about 15.1 at the moment and is still "bum high". She has nice movement and a spectacular dark grey and white flag for a tail!
We're all very pleased to have her in the family, especially my geldings who think she's the sexiest thing ever!
Having got her home and checked out her pedigree I find she's 46.87% Arab.
Her sire is CHOHN (PBAR XXIV) (Silver Scimitar / Guist Checanda)
Her Dam is SILVERSPINA (GSB) (Malaspina / Silver Cirrus).
I can find nothing about either CHOHN or SILVERSPINA anywhere.
For the "arab-y" bits I have tracked Silver Scimitar on allbreedpedigree and from what I've been reading on here and elsewhere he's 100% Crabbet. I'm not able to find anything out about Silver Cirrus - from her name it's tempting to think that she might have some Crabbet along similar lines to Silver Scimitar and I wondered if anyone on here might know anything about her? Or how I can find out more?
Sorry for long post and think you for your time - it's been a dream of mine to own an Arab and I'm really delighted with Spirit even though she's not pure bred.

No - Silverspina is not pure arab, her sire (Spirit's grandsire), Malaspina was quite a useful race horse according to pedigreequery with lines back to Northern Dancer.
As Silver Scimitar, Spirit's grandsire, is 100% Crabbet (his sire is Bright Shadow) I believe that would make Spirit 25% Crabbet, so I'm trying to find out what the other 21.87% is and my suspicion is that it's through Silver Cirrus who I suspect must be nearly 100% arabian - but whether she can be traced I don't know.
She's lovely, however "good" or not her breeding is, I just hope I can do her justice

Do you have the parentage of Silver Cirrus. Have looked for Silver Cirrus on Arab Data Source and can't find her but if you know her sire and or dam........... |

| Unfortunately I can find nothing about Silver Cirrus at all! All that I know is from Spirit's AHS Registration Certificate, which I've now put on allbreedpedigree. |
