One of those dreadful last minute wobbles - is it OK to combine a plain browband with a raised & stitched noseband in ridden classes? I thought I had a matching set, but can only find either a flat browband, or a raised/padded one amongst my gear!

Also, is a discreetly coloured comfort web girth OK (black on a black horse), or must it be leather??

First of all - these are just my personal "choices \ opinions!" - as you know there are no "hard or fast" rules

Noseband - would say a Raised one is fine if that is all you have (but i think if it has the "fancy" stiching on - then that is a no-no)

Girth - do you mean like a "cottage craft" style one? - if so then yes that is fine (probably the most commonly used style)

Thanks for the input - yes, the noseband is stitched as well as raised!!!...as is my 'proper' show double bridle, which came from an old hunting outfitters, so should have been 'the biz', LOL! (Naturally, the db also doesn't match the saddle that fits the horse - do these things ever??)

Phew, relieved about the girth - it's actually an Aerborn, but same difference

Looks like I will have to see if local friendly saddlery can do me a reasonably priced cavesson before Sunday!
