Thanks Libby, I would like a stallion proven( himself or his stock )in athletic performance rather than just showing. Imad is obviously performance tested and has some top class endurance stock on the circuit but sadly is not available by AI. Silvern Rissalm is certainly on the list but not sure... has he done anything other than showing/dressage? Thanks Lisa |

So few Crabbet stallions are available by AI.
There is Silvern Prince at Binley (Caroline Sussex), ridden show horse again but by a Premium sire with progeny doing racing and other things as wel as showing. He is avialable by frozen semen via Twemlows.
Then there is the wonderful moving, ultra-sweet natured Indian Idyll, a proven race horse with progeny doing both endurance and ridden showing but he is not available by AI.
Does Jane Kadri's Al Waha do AI? They have the Imad son Daas - not a proven performance horse but an Imad son with performance breeding on all sides. Really struggling to think of Crabbets that do AI. Alexia |

You could try African Emir, although he is not well known, he's very 'useful' and is by the Premium stallion African Gold.
Also Vlacq have some super stock by both Shah Shadow & Vlacq Khazad, well worth considering |

There is Silva Dollar, very good endurance horse and lovely boy. High % Crabbet and all English breeding as far as I am aware.

Hi Lisa
I wouldn't discount Risalm because he's mainly done dressage and showing - the amount of work that horse has done (and remained completely sound) is remarkable. From what I've seen, he's a really good, tough horse, and a bonus is his fabulous temperament. I was very taken with him, as you can see!
Other ideas - Anne Brown at Gadebrook Stud has use of some good stallions, and I believe she has a racing stallion there at present who's probably largely Crabbet/OE, can't remember the name, but she would be able to advise and probably make some suggestions. A year or so ago she had Shaded Silver on loan who has done x-country, endurance, jumping, etc, don't know if he's available by AI but very nice bloodlines. I'm sure the Crabbet Organisation could also help - google them.
Good luck, sounds exciting! Renee |

Blimey thanks everyone! Debs.. Thanks will pm/ phone soon you,....I don't think King finds you a 'spac' he always looks like he's having fun to me ! Judith ditto, very kind (typical of you) will ring you soon hugs to Charlie xxx The situation that has led to this possibility is a bit complicated... I have a 4yo coming on who is fab and I love to bits and am lucky enough that Harry also allows me to ride his lovely mare Sealeah ( sometimes!)so I don't need another horse. But I have been offered a chance that won't come again and is of great emotional value to me, I didn't intend to breed at this point so am thinking very carefully but will have to decide very soon. I appreciate your suggestions thanks everyone Lisa ps Debbie who needs a back hoof when you have a brother like yours?

Hi Renee,
I agree that getting to Hoys is a long tough route, as Rissalm did several times, winning the Championship last year much to everyone's delight. You have to have an ultra sound horse to do that imo, never mind several times.
I have a 2 year old daughter by him called Durdana who won the class last year at the Crabbet Show (ex Dahisha by Imad x Dancing Queen) so high percentage Crabbet. She is very tall so will be tucked away for a year or two until she grows into herself.
Lisa, do let us know what you decide .

Lots of lovely horses being mentioned but love to know if any of them are actually availabe by AI. PHA Silvern Risalm and Binley's Silvern Prince are of course but are any of the others? Oh and Anne Brown's current racing stallion is Russian not Crabbet - nice horse but not Crabbet. Alexia |

Thanks everyone, gotta get to work so Judith +Debbie, will pm tonight ... sorry! Would love to tell you all the story behind this ... I have been done a great personal kindness, but I have been asked to keep it to myself ! Thanks for all your help... have you seen the pics of Remmington Steele's fascinating life on Gadebrooks website... worth a look so thanks for that! I was not trying to minimise Silvern Risalm's amazing acheivements, just that in my opinion showing does not come close to testing the soundness in terms of wind, limb and heart to the degree that high level endurance does. Of course there is every likelihood that had his owners chosen an endurance career for him he would have excelled in that field too ! Must go Thanks again! Lisa

I remember seeing Shogun at NGAHS many years ago. To say he took my breath away is an understatement, his movement is awesome |
