yes you are correct being PTS is sometimes the best option. I had to make that hard call last year with our 29 year old arab. I do beleive though, that if there is a chance of life without pain then everything or everyone should have the best done for them
Awwww, what a lovely ending. Great that Molly has got a second chance after what has happened to her & even better that she is able to help the children come to terms with some of their injuries after the hurricane.
I find it amazing that they are able to do this but i would consider the horses quality of life first. Dont know if anyone saw about 4-5 years ago in the Daily Mail a lady had an appolusa(spelling???) and she went to america to get a limb made for her beloved horse,and was very succesful,but it cost her an absolute fortune. This was also done on the front leg. Its Ok if your loaded !!!
I am amazed that this can be done and I agree that the horses quality of life and potential suffering should be taken in to consideration before attempting something like this, but it's fantastic that it can be done!!
If anything like this ever happened to my horse I would definately consider all the options
