Hello there - I am searching for descendants of my uncle's arabians which he bred from The Old Farm Stud, Loughton,Bletchley, Bucks in the 1950s-1970s. Some of his mares included: Velutina; Golden Jubilee; Kamia; Crystal Dew; Lady Domino; Magic Diamond; Ailean, Lady Isabel; Lady of Milton Keynes; Phillippa; Something Special; Other offspring I remember are: Wasel Gerwazy; Golden Irex - my mind has gone blank now but there were many more. I know that Golden Domino was exported to Texas and that Sirel, who stands in Holland, is a descendant but I would be interested to know if there are any in the UK.

I'm happy at the moment - think I may have traced a descendant - there is a thread on Arabianlines from Leighann who is asking for people to think of a name of her foal from Roxalia! This may be the foal from Lady of Milton Keynes so the trail is getting hotter!

What an interesting thread and fabulous photos. I thought I recognised the Heavenly Twins so was pleased to have that confirmed. Looking forward to more please!

Thank you very much for that. I will try and track her down!

Lady of milton Keynes that went to a Mrs A nicholls may well be Angela Nicholls of Shillington Beds who at one point had the stallion Blue Shah.

Still looking for descendants - have discovered that Something Special went to the Shatir Stud I think in Israel, many of the others went to Holland. However, Ailean had a foal called YOZA bred by Miss D Coker - I wondered if anyone knew of this lady? Also, Lady of Milton Keynes I think went to a lady called Mrs A M Nicholls and a mare called Roxalia is a descendant, don't know if she is still in UK. Mrs Scott also had a mare called Pet (Sole Hope x Yavroum). Pet was exported to Holland. I think Yavroum stayed in this country so maybe there are descendants. Also Gleaming Gold was the Grandmother of Golden Domino so if anyone knows of any descendants, let me know!! Thanks.

Minhe - thanks for that - how odd! Shall know to look out for that in future.

Only just seen this on the thread - this is NOT a real horse. The giveaway is the words 'Sandicast Arabian'. This is an ornamental figurine. Also the pedigree is no match - it is straight Egyptian.

What you have found is a model horse site belonging to someone who does 'pedigree assignation'. Many people who can't afford the real thing collect model horses and assign them pedigrees based on the real thing. It is an excellent way of learning about pedigrees and breeding, but can cause confusion if the site does not prominently state it is a model horse one.

It is similar to the fantasy horseracing and football, etc that were popular a few years back.

In reply again to Morag - why did they all go over to the USA - when my aunt died I inherited a lot of her paperwork - lots of letters, among those letters is one from Rosemary Archer who I think is pretty prominent in Crabbet society? She is requesting Mrs Scott speak to Mrs Walton (american owner of G Domino) to see if she would allow him to come back to UK to stand at stud for a season - don't know if that ever went anywhere. There are letters from Mrs Walton back to Mrs Scott saying she favoured one of his sons coming back instead, but not sure if that ever happened either. Perhaps she died before it could be set up...

Hey people I recognise that famous photo of the heavenly twins yes that is shades of night with her twin fillies Dancing Sunlight & Dancing Shadow, Dancing sunlight figures fairly large in a lot of Australian Crabbet lines :)

Hi Morag - sad news, have been doing further research on Golden Domino and what happened to him. His owner, Mrs Walton, was killed in a car crash (I believe) and the arabians were donated to the University of Texas where Golden Domino died of colic aged thirteen. So sad. However, he does have offspring out there.

Hi there - thank you, I know Mrs Scott would be so thrilled that her horses still were being appreciated, she absolutely loved them like they were her children. The first picture is Crystal Dew, the second is Crystal Dew with Golden Domino at foot, the 3rd is Golden Domino in Texas. The fourth is I think Indian Gold (not one of Mrs Scotts), 5th picture again not one of Mrs Scott's but a horse called Shades of Night with two foals, last picture is Mrs Scott's mare, Velutina. Thank you so much to Lynda for putting them on for me.

Welcome to AL, it sounds like you've got a treasure chest waiting to be opened ! You could try contacting the Crabbet Organization for further help.

Lynda, I've just read your old thread, I don't know if you managed to get any further but I had a quick look in the 1979 stud directory and a Mr & Mrs D.C. Glass owned Symphony and Solanda at that time, I know this is a very, very long shot but their address was Islington Farm, Wells, Somerset,
