NPA Hazan (1999) & NPA Hafiz (2001)

Although I have had Arabians, both partbred & purebred since I was 14, it wasn't until I married Nigel Armstrong in 1995, that we decided we were actively going to breed Purebreds, and soon after saw the start of NPA Arabians.

The first foal to carry the NPA prefix was by Dakshah out of HT Cazala. NPA Shahmina, although slightly small, she was very well conformed, and was successfully shown in hand, with numerous first prizes and championships. She is now owned by Mrs. L Cheetham & her daughter Jennifer, and has just produced for them a beautiful filly foal.

All these qualities were found in Havannah, Standing about 15.1hh, she has the confirmation necessary to produce the type of foals we were looking to breed, - able to win in the show ring, but capable of excelling at various other equine activities.
	Havannah is by Maliek el Khiel, and out of Hagunia. She was bred by the Maxwells, and is closely related to all their successful "H" line horses. She is full sister to Hamadahn (Res world champion,) & 3/4 sister to Heloua, Hejaz & Hazika (all multi winners & producers of winners). She had been successfully shown in hand, both by the Maxwells and the Woodwards before taking her place in the broodmare band at High Tor Arabian stud. We will always be grateful to Ernest, Joan & Ian for allowing us to buy from them such a superb mare, who was only for sale as they were converting to breeding straight Egyptians.

Havannah arrived in foal to the straight Egyptian stallion Shaikh AI Kuran, and subsequently produced a stunning filly foal, NPA Kurrannah. "Anna's" show results include, Champion LEMAS AHS Group & Res Female & Res Pure bred Nrth Wales AHS. Along with numerous first prizes at county and group shows. Ridden enthusiasts always admire this tall, well-made filly, who is now 4yrs old, and 15.2hh she will commence her ridden career in 2002 partnered by Ms Helen Hubbold, to whom she is on lease. We have retained her with the intention that she will prove her self before establishing a second generation for us. Such was our satisfaction with Kurrannah, that Havannah returned to Shaikh al Kuran, and in 1999 was born NPA Hazan, who we gelded soon after weaning. We have had an immense amount of pleasure showing him, he is tall, pretty, full of presence, and certainly appeals to the judges. NPA Kurrannah has now got a lovely new home with Helen Hubbold, but still remains at our yard.

Havannah's Millennium colt foal, was by RA Scimmitar, he is just as tall, correct & stunning, as the others, NPA Scimbar, now owned by Miss C Grey. He has an extremely laid back temperament, and should make a superb all round horse.

In 2001 Havannah produced for us another "Colt" by Shaikh al Kuran, NPA Hafiz some people might have been disappointed, with a third colt in succession, out of our only mare, but he is absolutely stunning and probably our best to date.

We feel we have been reasonably successful, with our horses, in a very short period of time, especially considering we both work full time. We are determined all our horses will grow up as rational, safe individuals, whilst retaining the presence to excel in the show ring.

At our purpose built stables in the high peak, we are able to offer a variety of Livery services, from purely DIY, up to full production. We often have a waiting list, but please feel free to contact either of us to discuss your requirements.
