Betting 6/4 Kateland, 2/1 Omar, 7/2 Belle de Jour, 4/1 Mural de Feu,Princess Eos, 6/1 L’Enchanteur De Pre, 7/1 Khairo, 10/1 HS Hidden Gold, Augusta Gold, 12/1 Babuska

Augusta Gold was outpaced and ran very wide into the straight. Khairo started well but was outpaced and ran on at the end. He will do better with time. Mural De Feu is a grand sort but was never in the race today. L’Enchanteur De Pre was another who ran at the back of the field until running on in the straight to be nearest at the finish. Princess Eos was steadied ,then made ground into 4th at the 2f pole before being eased when beaten. Babuska was taken off her feet early on before running on nicely form 3f out. Hs Hidden Gold also ran on well from well off the pace and will do better over further. Omar was heavily backed and led until 2f out before running on again close home. Belle De Jour ran her best race yet, having every chance but no match for the winner. This is her trip. Kate land always dominated the race and at no stage looked likely to be beaten going clear at the entrance to the straight and keeping on well.

Time 1m 20

Betting 5/4 Kelway Amber Light, 2/1 Sugar Dandy, 5/2 Shasta Bree Tarkaan, 3/1 Hardtoback,14/1 Midnight Call

The favourite Kelway Amber Light was a big disappointment fading badly after leading for three furlongs. Midnight Call was left at the start and never showed. Hardtoback tracked the leaders but couldn’t quicken when it mattered. He may not be at his best on this polytrack surface. Shasta Bree Tarkaan ran his race , leading until the winner Sugar Dandy went past 1 ½ f out. He had beaten Sugar Dandy at this trip at Warwick earlier in the season and could have been expected to confirm the form as he was 16lbs better off today but Sugar Dandy has improved and clearly liked this surface.

Betting 9/4 Hazzina Bint Kray, 5/2 Majestic Omar, 3/1 Thia, 9/2 Segovia Sunrise, Aikon Aszu, 7/1 Censation,8/1 Silver Seranade

Thia and Majestic Omar both seemed unsuited by the new polytrack surface and were never going well. Silver Serenade spoilt her chance at the start and wasn’t disgraced considering how much ground she forfeited. Aikon Aszu led for most of the way but had no answer when Segovia Sunrise kicked for home 4f out. The latter was clear entering the short straight and should perhaps have won but his rider was surprised by the late surge from Hazzina Bint Kray who had looked beaten 2f out but who produced a storming run to lead in the last 50 yards. Censation plugged on well for third.

Betting 5/4 Horizon, 7/4 Lubaba, 2/1 Fayre Abi, 5/2 WFA Leopard,20/1 Prince Calaf

The first three home provided a thrilling race and the issue was in doubt until the post. WFA Leopard got away well and poached a couple of lengths on the others. He was never headed but had little to spare when challenged by first Fayre Abi on his inside then a late thrust from Lubaba who was only inches behind at the finish. Horizon was never traveling and may have been unsuited by the surface. Prince Calaf was 21 lbs out of the handicap but ran a great race having every chance 4f out but being understandably outpaced when they quickened for home.

Betting 2/5 Pride of James, 5/2 Great Lady, 5/1 Georgia Nakita,6/1 Chiloe, 12/1 Helicons Just William

The start was a bit of a shambles with three of the runners rooted to the spot whilst Georgia Nakita and Chiloe got on with the race. The others finally joined in with a circuit to go but when Chiloe quickened the tempo only Pride of James could go with him as the others ran out of stamina. The winner stalked Chiloe until deciding to go past inside the final furlong for an easy victory. There was 12 seconds(around 50 lengths) before Great Lady finished in third with the others finishing eased down.

Betting 6/4 Island Rover, 2/1 Olivphaya, 9/4 Al Reeh Janoob, 3/1 Millenium Ibn Procyon

Millenium Ibn Procyon lost a couple of lengths at the strat and never got into it. Island Rover looked the winner when leading into the straight but seemed to lose balance and momentum in the final furlong. Sand isn’t his favourite surface. Al Reeh Janoob is better over further but he ran well, leading and then battling on well for second place. The winner Olivphaya was taken off her feet and needed the final furlong to get a chance to strike, fairly flying at the finish.

Time 2m 2

Betting 6/4 Island Benedict, 5/2 Sakit Sura, 4/1 Ermelo,Ben Kenobi,Nicholettah,5/1 Crusaders Magician

Sakit Sura was always prominent and kicked clear 2 ½ f out never looking in any danger thereafter. He hadn’t won for a long time but had been dropped a long way in the handicap and was coming back to form. Ben Kenobi ran his best race for a long time coming from off the pace to snatch second inside the final furlong. Nicholettah ran well chasing the winner for the last three furlongs. Ermelo was always in mid division and was never dangerous. Island Benedict had every chance but downed tools when headed 5 f out.
