Nicholettah showed speed for three furlongs but then blew up and was never a danger. She always has a stiff task at the weights in a maiden and is seen to better advantage in a handicap. Millenium Ibn Procyon made a pleasing debut leading for five furlongs and running on well in the straight without being knocked about. He will improve for this run.

Wfa Promotion took time to get going when the winner kicked on 2f out and was running on well at the finish but always held by the winner. He was never in the race in a very hot maiden at the ARO Wolverhamton meeting on his debut and this was his first real racing experience.

Olivphaya was given a good ride making a decisive move two furlongs out and always  in command thereafter. She only beat a small field here but she looks a nice prospect and it will be interesting to see her in handicaps.

Chiloe was always in the rear being 25 lengths behind 3f out but lost no further ground and will do better when fitter.

Spring Psalm led until 2f out then ran a litle wide into the straight and possibly is better at shorter.

Sugar Dandy ran really well over a distance almost certainly beyond his best.He led into the straight and never stopped trying although having no chance with the winner. Pride of James always gives his supporters a few nervous moments at the start but after running sideways for a few yards he got away well enough and in the race he was different class, always going well and winning as he liked. His days of running in 0-80 handicaps are over and he may drop back in trip where he would meet the likes of Tamagotchi and Prussian Duke.

Gas Matylka showed speed for 2f but then faded. It’s 5 years since she ran and she was 17lbs out of the handicap. Starinsky sweated up and lost touch 3f out before running on in the straight. Bergamot was always in  mid division and probably needed the run.

Island Star has two ways of running and after showing early speed she gradually beat a retreat. Doraman ran his usual gallant race coming with every chance but never landing a telling blow. Afra ran her best race for some time and stayed on surprisingly well in the 6th and final furlong.

Island Rover has been improving with every run and won this well, taking it up in the final furlong and coming clear with the runner up. He may be able to do it again.

Sakit Sura was always in the rear and never a danger. The Siler Gambler led for two furlongs and held every chance until fading from 2f out. He needed his first run last season and will improve for the outing.

Phaymon had finished tailed off in his last 7 races but had been dropped a long way in the weights and was fitted with blinkers. He led after 2f and was a few lengths clear 2f out but the winner gradually reeled him in .Even so the crowd were certain he had won and he was called the winner by the commentator until the judge announced his verdict.

The angle at Larkhill is deceptive and the video showed the first two flashing past the post together with only a lick of white to show that Charan El Nefous had got the nod. Phaymon won the race everywhere but the line and now that he has found his level should have a good season. The winner has won 4 out of his last 5 races and although he was all out here may still be hard to beat.

Rezahs Starfighter was prominent early but gradually lost touch from 6f out.Al Jabal came with every chance at the 2f pole but could find no extra.

PHA Khamoun led after 2f and was clear 6f out but was then tracked by the winner, Sellwyn who was given a perfect ride to take it up entering the straight and quickly draw clear under hands and heels to win comfortably.

It was his first race for 4 years and his riders first ever! No wonder the bookmakers were cheering her home!
