The President of UAE Hydra Properties Challenge Derby:-

They didn’t hang around at the start and were quickly out of the stalls with Dutch Derby winner Somra at the head of the fairs presumably trying to draw the sting out of the field. Miesque De L’Ardus, Bachi Bozouk and Paris Gagner were all held up in behind and as they approached the furlong marker it looked as if Somra was going to pull off a brave victory but Miesque De L’Ardus (Kesberoy x Jelfa De L’Ardus) was cruising in behind and as they came inside the final furlong the game fillies went head to head with a very brave Miesque De L’Ardus getting home by a length for the Al Khalediah Stable. Back in second Somra (Dormane x Solonge) lost nothing in defeat and this filly is as tough as they come and is a credit to connections, she stuck to her task determinedly to hold off Bachi Bozouk (Pepe Le Moco x Ffine Appapalou) by a head. 4/6 fav Paris Gagner (Dormane x Gozela Des Esteves) wasn’t beaten far back in fourth but couldn’t live with the winners when the pace was upped inside the final furlong.
