Duffield enjoyed a tremendous season out in UAE winning the
Kahayala Classic for the third year in a row with Madjani.
Back in the UK the Shadwell stable seems as strong as ever
with No Risk Al Maury emerging as the new potential superstar
for
owner HH Sheikh Hamdan. No Risk Al Maury won a big handicap
on Dubai Day and slammed Malik D’Or on his seasonal debut
at Wolverhampton, this Group 2 was the next natural step and
he stood up to the challenge admirably. In spite of there being
no real pace at the start Richard Hills took up the running gradually
upping the pace in the last five furlongs, the field was soon
struggling to maintain the pace and No Risk Al Maury (Kesberoy
x Nectarine Al Maury) could scarcely of been more impressive
sauntering clear two lengths clear of Nokomys, he looks like
the best UK hope of winning this years Group 1 Dubai Stakes.
Nokomys (Amer x KTP Mystic Flight) improved with every run last
season and ran a blinder here chasing the winner all the way
to the line on her seasonal debut, she was always handy and stayed
on impressively in the straight five lengths clear of CS Malik
(Makzan x Ciarosa). The latter ran well over a course and distance
he won over last year and is entitled to come on for the run.
Whilst HH Sheikh Mohammed’s Goffs purchase Osaira wasn’t
disgraced back in 4th on her UK debut.
