Djeldour De Bozouls (Dormane x Udjella) threw down the gauntlet to CS Patriarch (who beat him at Exeter) with an emphatic win here under a superb ride from Phil Collington, well placed throughout Djeldor De Bozouls always looked to be going well and quickened clear in some style to repel the fast finishing Shahngali (Bengali D’Albret x Affecshahn) who showed he was coming back to form. The Vertuous Crusader (Vert Olive x Crusaders Spirit) wasn’t disgraced in third in his first attempt at Group level and remains very much on the upgrade. All three are liable to go to the Dubai meeting in August for the Group 1 Zaabeel Stakes over this trip where they will meet this seasons unbeaten sprinter CS Patriarch.
