Track: Good to Firm

The Emirates Arabian Apprentice Handicap Stakes 1 Mile 4 Furlongs:
1. Kalif D’Or
Frankie MacDonald
2. CS Clarion T P Queally
3. Baraka Ibn Al Tesah Hayley Turner

Distances: 3, ½ 8 ran

Winner owned by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashib Al Maktoum. Trained by Mrs. G Duffield. Bred by Mme. M Lopez & M. J M De Pajole.

The second race of the apprentice series was won in fine style by Kalif D’Or (Dormane X Malika De Fontenay) who was clearly on a going day and was superbly ridden by Frankie MacDonald. Turning into the straight he seemed one paced but under a strong ride from MacDonald he was galvanized to lead in the final furlong and ran on strongly to win by three lengths from CS Clarion (Chndaka X Cikada (Klarnet))who helped force the pace. CS Clarion looks to be improving and stays every yard of this trip as he showed when winning the Deira Stakes here in July, he fought hard to hold onto second from Baraka Ibn Al Tesah (ZT Shahkar X Al Tamah). The third impressed and ran on strongly from the rest of the field and seemed to stay this trip on this flat track.
