After about 8 years with my old one I have had to upgrade (and I laughed when I saw the hay and dirt in the back of my old phone!)
I don't want anything technical, I want a radio, a phone in case I need 999 or to be contacted in an emergency. I don't want the internet, the apps, the emails, the reminders.....
So my phone comes, no instructions and took a day to put in the sim card, after looking on Youtube! As for ringing for help...option 1, option 2,I was definately born 50 years too late!
Such a waste of time when I could be doing fencing!

I feel your pain. Had same phone for years, it's not a hobby it's a means of calling vets, farrier, YO, getting broken things sorted and lastly talking / texting socially. Phone eventually started to pack in and as sim only now replaced with hand me down IPhone from daughter. I've got to grips with it now and should be very grateful for all the things it can do (that I don't use) but what a trauma!
My office was flooded Boxing Day and will be closed for months, imagine my horrer given my aptitude and skill when presented with a Surface Pro to connect to my Wifi and work from home. Lots of bleeping from both me and the Pro however we are getting along ok now.
Grandson very impressed with granny being able to use it lol

I have an oldish very basic Nokia that will survive dirt, dust, heat, water and falls and will fit in small riding trousers' pockets.I don't have Internet on it as I spend already too much time on the computer at home,I can't see well anymore without glasses and basically I just need it for phone calls and texting.I hope it will last a long time….

We got my Mum a Doro easyphone - designed for the 'older' user - big buttons, big text, smallish sized flip phone. Quite cheap, but as far as I am concerned ideal for riders - just does phone calls and texts, easy to answer and has a camera for 'through a horse's ears' - what more could you ask for?! I have an Xperia Z3 compact, but I think I've just converted myself to the idea of a Doro - for riding anyway

Sally my daughter got me an IPad and I cried with frustration in the beginning. Now it is the best thing I have ever had I love it.
Going back to phones, as I have said my office in Shipley is badly flood damaged so working from home and my employer (HMRC) has now provided me with a ZTE F320, have to say it does the job and very easy and cheap at £20. So anybody wanting just a mobile no touch screen has a camera get one that's unlocked on sim only.
