I don't know if anyone here has seen (I don know how to do a FB link) but Patricia Lindsay of the Polish Arabians has died.
I never met her, but on my research of Cinny's breeding I came across her - she bred Kulak Cinny's maternal grandfather. I also on my stallion search kept coming across her name in relation to Polish arabs and how she was one of the key people in bringing them to the west x

I am very sorry to hear this. She bred Lilka, the dam of my 2 Arab siblings and was very friendly and helpful when I rang her to ask her about specifics of those Polish bloodlines. The Lindsays did a huge amount for the Polish Arabian over here and I do hope some of that legacy can be preserved. As an aside, I watched the footage of the 2014 Polish sales and was shocked by some of the changes in the breed over there now.I hope this was just a snapshot and not a true representation of what the Polish Arabian has become. |

Met her many times and with her sister Sonia. We went to her stud in Northants and used her beautiful Gerwazy, truly one of the most beautiful Arabians I have ever seen, on two of our pony mares. Did not have Arabs then. She was a fount of knowledge in the Arab horse world and was respected worldwide. She was one of the three Pat's who were the brains for a question and answer session Wessex held - full house and we had to turn some potential attendees away. When would that happen now? She is now with the other two Pat Coward and Pat Maxwell. She will be missed. Condolences to her family. |

Patricia was a lovely, highly respected breeder of Polish Arabians. So sad to read this news. I'm very grateful to her for having the foresight to breed my wonderful Lomond 23 years ago. RIP Patricia x |

She was fantastic. She never minded sharing her knowledge. I remember speaking to her about Rapier 111 who lived near me and passed away in his 30's. He was by Gerwazy ex Blue Raffia. She remembered him and his pedigree in seconds and what he had achieved as an Endurance horse and was pleased to find out where he had been, and that he had lived so long. They don't make people like her anymore and she will be greatly missed. |

Brought my first Arab of Pat, she had a lot of time for me, letting me ride her bay stallion ( lotny I think) hunting. I met her after the film The Black Stallion was showed on tv one Christmas, it was love at first sight.
I had only see one Arab up till then and that was at a show, and had asked the owner if I could have a ride and she let me!
They are lovley horses and I will never forget the kindness Pat and Sonia and not for getting Richard showed me. |

Another one of the breed's 'greats' gone. A lovely and very friendly lady - she and Sonia made me very welcome at the stud in Devon even though I am not a 'Polish person'. I shall miss her.

Very sad to hear this news, very helpful, charming really interesting, brave person. So enjoyed going to the farm for open days seeing her,Sonia, Richard and some wonderful horses. We still have Edda and her foal by Edeon was such a joy to us, both beautiful and inheriting his good nature. |
