Yes he should. All others that were in post during that time should be investigated as well and if found negligent should be prosecuted and, if still in post, fired.

Yes, his situation is untenable and has highlighted the bizarre fact that a Police Commissioner cannot be fired no matter what the circumstance.
Words fail me when I think of the enormous tragedy to young lives and the far reaching implications on our communities.

Without a doubt he should go with a boot up his ####, his has been a complete dereliction of duty - and no please do not give us the platitude of ' I can learn by my mistakes'. He is now in a cosy well paid job and thinks he can bluff it out, well no you can't do that and you will be forced to go. Why not do the Wright{sic} thing now and sling your hook pdq.

Without a doubt. It is an absolute disgrace that this happened, and at the scale it happened imakes it even worse. It makes me feel very angry that nowadays if people or companiesthink that by saying sorry it's all done and dusted. It's not.
All parties involved should be held accountant-able no question.
It makes my blood boil that theses people basically couldn't be arsed to do anything about it.

Just waiting for some useless tosser to trot out the old 'Lessons will be learned'. I want to scream (or kill!) every time I hear it!

It is beyond belief that all parties involved at the time thought something so horrible and widespread didn't warrant extreme and immediate action. Was it fear of racial implications, if so a very poor excuse as children are precious and abuse is abhorrent to all right minded people irrespective of colour, culture or religion.
Garnet you are so right with "useless tosser" , I could add spineless, money grabbing official looking after their own job.

I agree with all the above... BUT it does not matter how you look at it ... there are A LOT of people at fault over this issue ... AND PRIMARILY it is the Asian gangs that see vulnerable white girls as easy exploitation targets that are the guilty party. Too much sitting on the fence by people too scared to voice their concerns in case they are seen to be racist.
My husband used to work with a chap from Pakistan and he came home from work outraged one day and repeated to me what this asian lad had said to him ... he had said "when we asian lads want sex out of marriage we use your white girls.. they are easy meat, and we keep our asian girls pure and clean for us to marry". Trafficking of girls is mostly at the hands of Asians and we should not be afraid to say so.

Yes of course he should go, the very fact that he is desperately trying to hang on to his high profile job despite his failings in his previous role means that he is unfit to hold the position. If you accept the job and the salary then you also accept the responsibility, and when such massive failings as occurred in this tragic case are revealed then you carry the can. I think the report makes very clear that there was an institutionalised process of ignoring what was being reported from the front line and all those poor children suffered and will continue to be horribly scarred by what was allowed to happen.
