As i was wandering round the field today i saw two Ladybirds , my fields are in Northumberland and never seen them this early, lovely to see them. We also have lots of Bumblebees this year, must be because we had such a mild winter everythings early. The baby bunnies are everywhere its hard trying to miss hitting them on the bank towards home as there are so many, sadly my cat Thomas is making a dent on the ones in the garden, there are too many but still sad when he brings the baby ones home in his choppers.

Oh dear, naughty cat! One of mine leaves dead mice for me; they get recycled as one of my Royal pythons doesn't like his mice pre-frozen (the other two are happy to have thawed rodents) so they don't go to waste.

I have rescued a few bumble bees that have ventures into the house already let's hope they do well this summer. As for bunnies I have mixed feelings, very cute but the damage they do to fields with horse leg breaking holes gives me nightmares. Thomas is only doing his job as a cat, as I had to remind myself when I woke up to thankfully dead baby rat in my bedroom yesterday, Peach puss very proud!

Kharidian how kind of your cat to think about your python and bring him his tea
Ari yes the rabbit holes are a worry and this year there are so many of them about they don,t even run and hide now when we go out on the lawn and its like watershoip down on my paddock. I felt really guilty the other day as i saw Mrs Bunny taking nesting stuff into her burrow so i waited for her to come out and stuffed some stones in the entrance, she will just have to nestmake somewhere else.

Last night it was full of fireflies around here,I love them they are so magical, except when you get one in your bedroom, they are so bright it awakes you!
Yes cats so love to bring presents don't they?lizards and geckos are the norm, mice and rats, too( a mouse yesterday and a rat this morning, how lovely)rabbits, birds, snakes and one once caught a male pheasant….problem is when they bring the mouse/rat still alive so they can play in the living room only for the rat to escape and hide behind the furniture...

Oh god we have zillions of bunnies...here all year round but lots more just now. They are so sweet especially the tiny sweet little babies but our land does take a hammering blooming holes everywhere! Border terriers ignore them....

Fireflies are just amazing, I was lucky enough to see them on an early May visit to San Stefanos Corfu. They were in their millions and really made the holiday magical. There were lots of turtles in the streams and even a Chestnut Arab grazing near, what more could a girl want.
