Arab racing, frist race 2.00 p.m., big fields and some truly great racing on offer. Good luck all with runners.

Wolverhampton Sat 28th May by Paul Simmons

Simmons Selections:-

1st race = Purebred (PB) Maiden over 1 Mile 1 Furlong:
TO WIN – HH Sheikh Hamdan’s beautifully bred Tidjani colt Saghani is the selection, his dam is Madjani’s half sister making him ¾ brother, should take this race en route to the G1 UK Derby.
PLACE CLAIMS – The Royal Cavalry of Oman’s Hajes ran a big race on his seasonal debut when second to Eustral over 8f, whilst Manan is well bred and full brother to racewinner Louran, he was placed on his only start last term and will be sharper this season. Delicieux Al Maury is from same dam line as G1 winner No Risk Al Maury.

2nd race = PBA, AA & TB Handicap 0-180 over 2 Miles:
TO WIN – Adalar looked right back to his best when winning at Taunton over 7f a couple of weeks ago, and won over 14f back in 2007 so step up in trip will suit.
PLACE CLAIMS – Sky Chart won 3 times from 10-16f last season including over course and distance last season and rates a big danger, whilst Oh Sunny Boy won over 12f at Fakenham last season.

3rd race = PB Handicap 0-85 over 1 Mile 1 Furlong:
TO WIN – The Royal Cavalry of Oman’s Mudalal showed admirable battling qualities when getting off the mark at Taunton beating stablemate Kerbelle Lotoise.
PLACE CLAIMS – Dangers come from in form trainer Beverley Deutrom’s Maghazi who won twice over this trip last season over 7f at Market Rasen and in the Athbah Gold Final at Warwick over this trip. Ghallab looked progressive when winning his maiden over this trip last season.

4th race = PB Handicap 0-55 over 7 Furlongs:
TO WIN – Senor Dublcheck ran a big race when 4th to impressive winner Katwalk at Taunton in a 0-65 over 9f, he won over 10f last term as well as being 2nd over this trip and can win here.
PLACE CLAIMS – Unshooda has some useful form over these trips on this surface, she’s dropped down the handicap and can take a hand here. Shamal looked to be steadily improving last season culminating in an impressive win in the Athbah Bronze Final at Warwick over 10f.

5th race = PB Maiden over 6 Furlongs:
TO WIN - Tarteel was 3rd on her debut last season over 7f and her half sister won her maiden over this trip and she is the one to beat.
PLACE CLAIMS – Bigg N Rich and Sandababa both have plenty of speed in their American pedigrees, whilst Salman is half brother to a dual Derby winner and 8f winner Sophia.

6th race = PB Handicap 0-70 over 1 Mile 6 Furlongs:
TO WIN – Aakbe catches the eye mainly as he heralds the return to the UK racing circuit of former champion trainer Sarah Kelleway (welcome back Sarah!), he had some good form last season placed twice from 7-9f and the step up in trip should suit.
PLACE CLAIMS – Floren retains his form admirably well, 2nd to Katwalk over 9f at Taunton and he won over 10f last season (Premier h’cap) and likes the AW, whilst Pacific Way run well fresh and hacked up over 2 miles at Hereford last term from Des’brie.

7th race = PB Conditions over 1 Mile 1 Furlong:
TO WIN – Al Janoob ran a great race in defeat last season when beaten less than half a length into third by Adjinn D’Aroco, but the season before won twice over this trip, he’s half brother to G1 Dubai Stakes winner Jiyush and looks as talented.
PLACE CLAIMS – Tidarbret had a great season last term winning twice inc. over this course over 8f and was 3rd on Dubai Day, whilst Genuinely At Risk is a classy performer and won here last term over 8f.

8th race = AA, PBA and TB OPEN over 1 Mile:
TO WIN – Yankey won 3 times last season and placed 5 from 8 starts and won the TB C’ship, he won over course and distance and should land this.
PLACE CLAIMS- Son of Sophie is a course specialist and won all 3 starts last term including at this track but might find the trip a touch sharp. Elliots Choice looked incredibly impressive when winning at Taunton over 12 furlongs and looks to have the speed to suit this drop in trip.
