One of my favourite pictures taken last summer,her Mother Amiah is on her left.Wasn't she beautiful.

She was very beautiful indeed, you must have been very proud to be part of her life.

Very very beautiful mittens, she looks so well, you can take comfort that she didn't have a terribly, long drawn-out illness and will never know the misery of a slow decline.

I bet she had a lovely 'whinney'. These beautiful horses are heartbreakers, but what would we do without them.....

She was indeed a beautiful girl, as is her mother. I am so sorry for everything you have gone through in the last weeks, and sadly I know only too well how you are feeling now, but you have done the best and bravest thing and given Whinney a peaceful and dignified end. It will get a little bit easier with the passage of time and you will be able to take comfort from your lovely memories of happy times.

That is a really special photograph Mittens,and yes she was a beautiful girl and her mother as well. Please remember her like this because that is how she looked for most of her life. It is one of the best photos I think I have ever seen.

I still keep hoping this is a bad dream and that I'll wake up and none of these posts will be here and that she'll be waiting at the gate with the others.There are still a few strands of her mane where she fell asleep for the last time and when the sun hits them they cast a golden glow as she always did. I have enough mane for me to stroke which is in a special box. She did indeed have a lovley Whinney Goldenmane. That is how her stable name came about; she was still not quite out of Amiah when she turned to look at us and gave the most beautiful little Whinney,she couldn't havew been called anything else after that!
