I think it might be The Shah who was World Champion in 1978.

Thanks Bia I thought it was The Shah straight away, but it took me a little while to find out the year.

This one was a favourite of mine from the first time I saw him

The stallion has to be Carmargue and it's his half sister ??? I don't think it'd be a Velvet Shadow daughter so we are looking for a White Lightning daughter who was damn fertile !!!!
