Hi folks,
I would really appreciate any advice/tips on the healing of leg wounds. One of my horses has a superficial wound on her back leg at the front of the cannon bone. I need to get it healed up for showing soon.
I have been hosing the wound to keep it moist (vets advice) but it seems to be taking it's time to heal . Help!

Get some Manuka honey - works wonders Just slap the stuff on, and let it do its stuff !

I used it on an un-banadagable leg wound last year, you now cant even tell where the wound was

If you DO get any "proud flesh", please don't let a Vet excise it - use the old-fashioned remedy of copper sulphate crystals instead.....I have plenty of experience with it and it works!

Thanks folks luckily the cut has pretty much healed now !!
Sazzlepants, i agree about germolene it is good stuff and so is the nappy cream " drapolene" - that sorted out the worst case of mud fever I have ever dealt with on an arab mare of mine a few years ago.
