Hi All

I have been a lurker on here for sometime so firstly, hello everybody!

I am hoping that some of you breeding whizz kids can tell me about my mares bloodlines.

She is a 14.3hh, 6 year old (technically 7 now I guess), chestnut mare called Hamra Johar. I have put her on all pedigree:

http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/hamra+johar

I believe her sire has some egyptian breeding but would love to hear anything else that anyone has to say. I have googled her and found out that she was bred by Highfield Arabians, Derbyshire, and I know that the lady I bought her from had had her from a weanling. So after more info on bloodlines than history really.

I will post some pics tomorrow as only have them on my work PC.

Thanks everybody!

Lorna

yes she does, however now days it's such a mine field and various people say oh that's not crabbet and that was bred by *** and not by the Blunts, Judith Wentworth, Cecil Covey or lady Ann Lytton l prefer to say old english rather than crabbet.....

however l am sure there's an expert on here who will be able to tell you just how much of the english is crabbet

if you look further back in the dams pedigree there are horses that were imported from the US who l think came from the original Blunt stock in egypt Gayza for example and also horses from crabbet and which went to the states and then were imported back in to the uk..
one horse who is not crabbet is Hauren who was bred by miss Dillon, who bred some very good horses, often l believe with crabbet stallions

so not sure exactly how they are classified

hope that helps

Ah - Ha!

According to Allbreeds she is 62%

I have only just discovered that Crabbet percentages are listed on there - is this new?
