Asking this cause our stallion is still growing and hes just turned 8 when we brought him at 5 and a half he was measured with sjai and he measured 14h2 on the dot but the person measuring did say he was gonna grow a bit yet. so last year he was hitting just 15h and measured him tonight as hes got such a high wither appeared thought it was xause he was a little light but no hes got good weight on i thought maybe not and hes standing exact full up 15h1, 155cm. i measure him four different places incase it was uneven ground and he still measured 15h1. is this him finished growing all he needs to do now is full out. and what age are they fully matured at. i know arabs are slow maturers but thought at around 7 he would be fully grown but obviously not.

I have always been under the impression that an Arab does not totally stop growing and filling out till they are seven

Mine definitely grew half an inch between 6 and 7 but he has stopped growing upwards now and seems to be filling out at last but then he did look a bit immature for his age beforehand. Some young horses look remarkably mature dont they? I think their faces are nicer when they are older sort of more defined. Does anyone else notice that?

I measured Molly at 7 and again at 11 years old and she had growned an inch during that time.
