Just want to say a big THANKYOU to Bill & Katie Gore, Lori, Vic & Beth Bates.
Just to some up on the way back from Stafford on Sunday there was a problem with the back wheels on the lorry. They nearly came off, the bolts that hold the wheels to the hub of the lorry had failed due to a poor repair prior to us buying the lorry. You cannot see this problem untill something happens. The bolts and how they are secured are hidden until the hub of the back wheel is stripped!!!
Thanks to Bill for doing his best to help the problem. Thanks to Kate for being on the other end of the phone!!!
Most of all THANKS to Lori and Vic who followed me to the garage, then took their horses home and returned to rescue Merlin.
This could quite easily of ended in disaster.

How frightening. Glad you got help in time. As you have said…it could have been disastrous.
Kind regards

Hiya Vicky,
just glad we could help and so so glad that you spotted the problem in time to avert a major accident. You kept your cool Vicky when most of us would have panicked our pants off!!! |

Mum here...I was horrified when I heard the latest lorry quirk. So many, many thanks again to Bill, Katie, Lori, Vic, Beth and most of all to Vicki who kept her cool. I didn't!!!! The garage has now repaired and checked it all out. Frightening to think how someone's previous botch up job, could have created mayhem, I dread to think of the consequences had the two remaining bolts failed. This lorry had just sailed through its plate beginning of May and only been out three or four times since, but this problem was invisible until stripped down. Merlin munched his way through it all totally unconcerned!!!! |
