aaahhh, thank you  ! She's my girl's dam in case you hadn't guessed ! Looks quite an old picture? She was snow white when I met her aged 23 and I know that she is sadly no longer with us. There is a stunning picture of her somewhere in her later years, may try and dig it out myself.

Not sure when it was, looks to be at Ascot so I guess in the 80's sometime. Have been working my way through all my old books and AHS News' and scanning photo's to build myself a database on the computer, taking forever though!
You're lucky to have a daughter, always thought she was a lovely mare.. |

Thank you! There are a couple of photos of her daughter (Kuraishiya) on the Arab pics thread (page 3 about half way down). It does look like Ascot doesn't it? Would be interested to know her class and which year that was. Sorry Lynda, not meaning to hijack your quiz but as you have probably been in bed for the last 2hours I hope you won't mind too much !

Not at all (saves me the trouble of looking), although like all of you, just going through the old books again has been a joy for me, I dont do it nearly enough, so doing this easy little quiz has helped me to fire off the old grey cells again. yes she was a lovely dam and now Jen you can see why I am so happy for you to use Crimbo, as I told you its only the chosen few who will get to be covered by him these days and I can already see the resulting foal in my minds eye  |

| ok, she was imported into the USA by Glenloch from Egypt at the age of 15, she was a Dahma Shawania said to trace in direct tail female to Ali Pasha's El Dama ,who again is said to decend from the most beautiful of mares of king Soloman stables ( I am reading this, so if its not right its not my fault) |

Rosy, my Ghazalahh was born 1951 I think, whereas Ghazala was born 1974 .

| I agree , but Judith Forbis said that the mare Gazala( Mashhour X Bint Farida) was imported as * Ghazalahh by Glennloch so somewhere along the line her name was changed (by three H's) I know there was another Gazala in fact there were at least three ! but the one I refer to is this one but you both deserve top marks for finding her ! |
