This forum has been amazing. There are many of us who have learned so much, horses who have been given another chance at life. Lets not let it die

Totally agree with you paul, you cannot tell me she came home to visit and stayed in the house all the time and did not go to see her so called beloved horses. She is as bad as her mother for not trying to help the horses, no animal lover would sit by and let this happen even if it was her mother. How anybody can justify what they did is beyond me.

You are perfectly entitled to your own opinion , but do you honestly believe the daughter knew nothing?
This did not happen over night! These poor horses, some dead, others stood with them were subjected to horrendous conditions.
The daughter knew all too well what was happening outside her bedroom window.
She may have fooled you... try telling that to the people that bred, sold & loaned horses to them.

I have a theory as to why this forum is quiet but many of you won't like it. The Peel case.

What happened to these horses at the hands of Rachelle Peel was appalling and I hold the RSPCA equally responsible. People do bad things but an organization like the RSPCA is there to help rather than exacerbate the problem. Their arrogance in their refusal of help from the AHS, not to mention the Arabian community, was shameful. Their slaughter of the horses, unforgiveable. Their lies in court, disgraceful and unlawful.

But the character assassination on this forum of the Peel's daughter Evie was nothing short of sickening. Did she know there was a problem at home? Although she was away at University, it seems likely she must have. Did she know the extent? Possibly not. Could she have done anything? Her comment on this forum as Taragun demonstrated a lack of maturity. Could she have stood up to her mother who I think I have seen described as a very forceful character?? All in all, we'll never know how much she knew, if anything. She was NOT there. She was NOT charged with anything. To attack her in that way was wrong.

And then there's "BUMP". Many times I have clicked to read a new comment but it's just the thread being bumped to the top. Why? It's boring. And what is the point?? Existing forum members will never forget this terrible case. New members will doubtless explore the topics and read Edgevale's amazingly detailed thread "The Lost Ones".

Well, that's my five eggs worth. I said you wouldn't like it ...

I agree, but I haven't got anything interesting to post! It's too hot to ride in the evenings & the horse flies are evil.
How is everyone's hay crop? Round here it's about half what it should be but really good quality. I'm paying £3/small bale + delivery.

Well said. i love this forum too, as a newbie, I joined because of my love of the Arabian horse, I thought it would be a great place to learn new things, find out pedigree lines especially on the older ones. and just chat to like minded people of all ages. Amanda

I think the forum went a bit quiet a while before the Peel case. There was a bit of a dust up (I forget why) and a lot of established posters left. A real shame as their posts were very enjoyable and often very funny (Pixie and Merlot spring to mind). It went a bit quiet after that.

I really enjoy this forum and would love it to spring back to life.

I will start a thread when I can think of something interesting to say!

Like Pasch says make a new post and we can all try and help you out if we can
Pasch Posted - 29 Jun 2018 : 10:03:38 PM
Firelight why not making a new thread about your youngster.Maybe there will not be many people looking at it and/or giving advice but at least you tried
FireLight Posted - 28 Jun 2018 : 11:05:25 AM
Agree Sab2. I am bumbling along with my youngster and could do with a bit of advice and support but alas I feel Facebook has beaten me! Sad really as 'Araby' people are dwindling fast!
sab2 Posted - 28 Jun 2018 : 10:20:02 AM
I have not been on here for a while, how sad to see no posts nowadays I used to love coming on here and reading e erybodies posts

So pleased to see AL is alive and well - I've been guilty of neglecting it and blame FB - I do hope we can keep it going!
Mrs DJ Posted - 23 Apr 2018 : 5:07:17 PM
I check on here regularly for new posts. Sadly, there's rarely anything new. I blame Facebook, which appears to be taking over from most forums. I suppose it has it's uses, but forums like this are easy to search for information. If you see something on FB, it's nigh on impossible to find it again!
Pasch Posted - 22 Apr 2018 : 2:17:15 PM
Jackiedo, the title of your post just about sums it up.
I see people look at new posts (although not as many as in the past) but hardly anyone makes a contribution by posting or writing a new thread.
Sad to lose all the knowledge...if people want the forum to survive, then make an effort and post away!
FireLight Posted - 21 Apr 2018 : 11:25:38 AM
Well said. I am in the process of getting a new youngster and am wondering where I turn to for advice in our journey ahead.

I also loved reading about other horses and owners and their little stories, I didn't feel so isolated owning a beautiful Arabian in a mainly 'cob' world!
