Please share your little welshies. I'm sure lots of you have them as they're about as addictive as arabs. I went from 0 to 3 before I knew it! They're like ragwort, turn your back and another one appears in your field!

Here's my little herd, little treasures...

Couldn't work out why my little grey was getting so fat and the others were maintaining, that is til I found her stealing the winter grazing over the fence

Please can we have some more

Just got a new little Welshie on the yard, came with his field mate a 3 yr old thoroughbred. After very careful introduction to the herd Romeo the Welshie looked after his mate for just one day and now he is one of the boys and playing like he's been here years leaving his pal to learn his own social skills. Fabulous little characters.
Nicola, poor little chap for what happened to him but he's overcome it so well with you and his Arab pals.

Oh dear little soul, how well he has adapted, and thank goodness he has a home where he is safe now.

Oh bless him! That's brutal :(

I have a welsh A that is a companion for my boys. He is 99% blind in both eyes as a result of being beaten with a scaffolding pole during a round up on the mountains when he was 6 months old :-(
He leads a happy life with my 2 Arab boys, as long as he can hear the electric fence clicking he's ok!

I love Sec As. I grew up in west wales and my cousins always had As on the farm. They did pony trecking and when finished for the day we used to get the cows in on them. They are such characters. The one i used to ride was called sparrow and he was a little bu++er. Head between his knees and go, butout trecking good as gold. My cousins always had grew ponies.... then the arab arrived.

Callisto that's Saffy. I've had her since Feb this year. Her owner was giving up and I went over to help her move some hay and came back with a pony!

thanks Ari, we also have a C, Ollie, had him since he was a foal, sold him last year at 6yrs old and he was getting passed form pillar to post and I just couldn't see this happen to him., so bought him back a few weeks ago, and he wont ever be sold again, he carries Jemma no bother, so she is having fun over the winter on him and we will decide if we are going to loan him next spring.
A few of him from last year just before we sold him, and a couple from a few weeks ago at dressage, just after we got him back

Rosie, Rupert is lovely and being a Welshie will have the character and confidence to live with Conner and such a perfect home for him after being in care.
How gorgeous is Glenisla Peter Pan, wow what a handsome little chap.
Our resident Welshie does a grand job for his junior rider, forward going, challenging enough for her to learn but safe.
Have to say though there are times in the field or when catching or turning out I am glad he's only small and not as big as he thinks he is lol

He is just scrumptious! Do please post more pics when he arrives

A lady drives a welsh sec A near us, even through the middle of our quite busy town. Her two spaniels sit under her seat, it looks really fun! But if you want to go shopping you have to have a groom to hold the pony (and keep an eye on the dogs) for you while you are off marketing, I suppose in the old days the shop staff would come out and hold them if you had gone out on your own.

Please update us when he arrives.

Nooo Pasch don't tempt me! I tell myself welsh mountains don't come in black and defo not palomino!

Rosie your little guy is v handsome

Does anyone drive their ponies? How cute would it be to do that. Maybe when I'm too old to ride I can then retire the Arabs and get the ponies out in a little trap!

Pasch Posted - 14 Oct 2014 : 02:07:39 AM
Fee,they are so cute!
Did you get one of each colour on purpose?
You need a black one and a palomino now
Libby Frost Posted - 13 Oct 2014 : 10:05:27 PM
Love them. My first REAL pony that I had when I was 10 was a just backed welsh section A called Jasper .I Was really nervous but for some odd reason we clicked with all the odds against us
Sharea Posted - 13 Oct 2014 : 6:34:26 PM

They are lovely Fee, i love Welsh ponies i have Welsh sec B ponies. Until tonight i had 4 sec B,s but i have just sold one of my mares tonight , she has a lovely little girl to love now. Luckily she is staying living here with me and all her friends so no stress involved moving homes for her

What little angels, I love Welshie's, we have one on the yard and he's fabulous. Very field wise little chap with a cheeky personality. First at the gate in winter ready to sneak past the bigger horses but prefers to think he's back on the Welsh hills in summer.

This is our little Welsh Sec A - Felledge Rupert

He arrived this spring as a companion for Connor after we sold Bertie

Hes 4 yrs old and has been in 'care' all his life until he came to us. Part of an RSPCA case

Hes a real character and the boss of our little herd!
