For sale:- One purebred dapple grey mare, 5yrs, does not bite or kick but is extremely destructive. Threatens to take stable apart because a horse leaves the barn, even though she has seven other companions during this stressful time. Tears round stable like a lunatic, screaming like a banshee.
Extremely strong to handle , not good with farrier , will only load for one person (and of course that is not me), never seen traffic (god forbid) and not broken to ride (god forbid). Excellent pedigree but unfortunately she got in the queue for looks and not brain cells. Despite repeat pleas from myself to 'please stop doing that' (those are not my exact words)I have finally decided that if she just isnt going to listen I'm going down the garden to eat worms or something. Offers please to the psychiatric wing of my local hospital .

Louise, get your carrot bearing butt back over here and DEAL WITH HER!!! (do you still have those pics you took of your 'chyna doll'?)

Karon, she'll only load for the carrot bearing lady, so you'll have to wait for her return lol!!

And if anyone thinks that Hakka is a GOOD boy.........................are perfectly right No longer spotty I'm afraid, and his daughter can move like a train in any direction except the right one!!
lottieherts Posted - 22 Feb 2010 : 6:23:46 PM
She looks like butter would not melt! She really is super and I have always been a fan of Hakka...Does he still get his spots? I bet foalie can move like a train with those parents!! Well if you really get fed up of her you can send her my way!

Mogwai, did you mean K? If so, yes sadly she did daft old thing.

I put her out in a rug (obviously before we realised that she hated them as she didn't have a problem for the first 7 years that I had her !). She charged up and down, crashed through the electric fencing bringing it and another valuable 17.2 dressage warmblood creature with her, galloped around the back of the menage, down the long side that had concrete ditches in it (don't ask), ducked under another electric wire, exploded out onto the yard, spotted the farrier's van blocking her way, tried to stop, slid over onto her side and sailed gracefully into the side of said van ! Farrier and two lorry drivers stood open mouthed whilst someone else rescued her, we cleaned up all the blood and caught the other horse who was also seriously free range by this point and 10 mins later she was munching her hay completely unconcerned !

Another time she turned tail in the snow and galloped back up the track, hit the ice covered concrete, fell over onto her side again and slid into the horse walker this time . Sounds crazy I know but we did figure it was the rug and she's never had one on since and been fine (touch wood). She was in foal the second time it happened too so I was very worried.

She is a bit bonkers it has to be said, it's a bit of luck she will never be for sale ! I sometimes feel like joining you with the worm thing Pashon it has to be said .

I agree we definitely need pictures of your superstar girlie, she sounds quite a character !

RiffRaff Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 10:27:47 PM
We need a picture please of this girl!!
george Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 9:56:00 PM
Sooo funny, and I thought that might be the reason Treebie was at the sales, because of her "little ways" lol. seems like it's quite the norm though!
Pashon2001 Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 1:19:39 PM
She has had the pedigree chum lecture, maybe kit-e-kat would be more threatening??? On some days Karon, she is free to any home lol! Especially the day last week that I found her stable door split in half (top to bottom), her automatic drinker hanging off the wall and the barn flooded
Thanks Mrs Vlacq in reminding me that I only have 19 more years to go before senility sets in

Getting a taste for worms, and the bbq sauce helps immensely thanks!

One saving grace is her son is a sweetheart
Kazzy Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 12:48:24 PM
He he he!!

You sound like me.

My response to my cheeky little arab is "I've been trying for 14 years to teach him and now I've given up"

We wouldnt part with them for nothing though!! Saying that though nobody would want my little angel anyway they would send him back!!

Janet
Karon Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 12:39:36 PM
I'll have her I take it she's free to a good home?

Must PM you some photos later, BTW, I keep forgetting.
garnet Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 10:10:51 AM
She needs the Kit-e-Kat lecture! (For our younger readers, Kit-e-Kat is what cats used to eat before Iams etc). We used to explain to naughty horses the horrible fate in store if they didn't pull their finger out and start being more obliging, but the problem is that it can move the owner to tears while leaving the horse oblivious!
suz Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 09:23:48 AM
love it
jacki Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 08:55:45 AM

Goldenmane Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 07:50:41 AM
No such thing as a mad Arab, only a mad Arab owner
mogwai Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 07:09:19 AM
Oh my god, did J really do that?!!!
jaj Posted - 19 Feb 2010 : 10:48:21 PM

Does yours run straight through electric fences and then slide neatly along the concrete on her side finally popping out from underneath the farriers van at the sight of a turnout rug being brandished with intent !

Honeyb060674 Posted - 19 Feb 2010 : 10:47:42 PM
Aww bless her..shes just 'Special/misunderstood/quirky/opinionated' and all the other words i have used to excuse my little arabs 'eccentricity' (Nice word Mrs Vlacq!) Personally we tend to favour...hoon/hysterical/demented/irrational...and now at almost 32 years young endearingly neurotic!! You can't help but love them
I do believe worms are rather tasty dipped in bbq sauce
Mrs Vlacq Posted - 19 Feb 2010 : 10:20:56 PM
too funny..... I have similar thoughts
Offers invited on inexplicably 'intelligent and playful' young gelding, answers to the name of GIT_WIZZARD!!!!

The first 24 yrs are the worst, then it gets mildly easier for about 3 weeks before aged eccentricity sets in
moatside Posted - 19 Feb 2010 : 9:45:12 PM
Happy to share the cost of the ad, got 2 that would go nicely with your girl Breathe slowly and enjoy the worms
