Posted - 27 Nov 2016 : 8:29:26 PM Why on Earth couldn't she just call you and say "come get him back" instead of shooting him and then covering what she had done with all those lies??it strikes me as a complete waste of time and energies...really,what goes on in some people's minds....hope you get some answers although I personally would have taken legal action

Posted - 26 Nov 2016 : 11:20:37 PM More than a year has passed since I last posted about Daffyd, and I thought you might like an update.
I have given Zoe every opportunity to get in touch, without going public.
Thanks to the many people who contacted me I now know where she works, I sent her a signed for letter to her workplace which she ignored, I have since had conversations with the practice as it's my only means of contact with her. The practice are being helpful and acting as go between, Zoe "has documentation" to show why Dafyfdd was shot, I've yet to see it.
I have given them until Christmas to persuade Zoe to tell the truth, they are in a difficult position as they employed her after the event and she is extremely plausible !
One thing for sure I won't be going away until I get to the bottom of why she behaved as she did, I've also been informed that she told some people that he was a cruelty case and I didn't want him back, the lies just keep coming.

Posted - 25 Sep 2015 : 07:53:37 AM So sorry to read this Mandy.....heartbreaking to read. What beggars belief is that people seem to have no morals or feelings of remorse for their actions. Do they really think it will go away and we shall all forget? I couldnt look at myself in the mirror if I had done something evil. |

Posted - 24 Sep 2015 : 6:32:04 PM So very sorry to read this. The only consolation you have is that it appears that he was treated well until she decided he was no longer wanted; what is wrong with people, have they no feelings for anything or anyone but themselves.

Posted - 24 Sep 2015 : 4:35:21 PM Oh Mandy
I am truly sorry to read this and learn what has happened.
What an absolutely dreadful situation, this is truly heartbreaking!
I personally know that you would never have loaned one of your precious equines to anybody who, for a moment, you thought you couldn't trust.
My thoughts are with you all at this terrible time.

Posted - 24 Sep 2015 : 3:04:10 PM I now know what happened to my pony. It's been a very hard lesson for me, Dafydd paid the ultimate price and I want to let as many people know as possible so that Zoe doesn't get her hands on any more ponies or horses. I would also like to thank the many people who have put the pieces together for me.
Here is the history.
In 2009 I advertised my little 11hh partbred Asham High Society (Dafydd), here on AL, he was 4 at the time, he had been a companion to a colt who had been gelded and sold, thing were difficult with illness in the family so I thought one less pony would be helpful, I had owned him since he was a yearling. I didn't want to sell him as I worry about small ponies being passed around when kids outgrow them, thus the loan.
Zoe contacted me, she came to see him and loved him and as she was only 2 hours away I agreed she could take him, she signed a full loan agreement. I had lot's of updates and all seemed well. seven months later she contacted me to tell me she was moving to County Durham and could she take Dafydd, my gut reaction was no, I so wish I'd listened to it, but he was looking great and my Mum was not getting any better so I allowed him to go.
For the next 2 years or so I received lots of emails and photos from Zoe Dafydd always looked good, then the emails dried up to my shame I didn't really worry as she had him for 3 years and I didn't even pass my mind that there might be a problem.
Then all the Peel stuff came up and though I didn't think there was anything to worry about I just wanted to be sure, I rang her, her phone was no longer available, I wrote to her no reply. I did start to worry though the reality turned out much worse than I was beginning to imagine.
I now know that she is not a veterinary nurse as she told me, she told someone last week that Dafydd was PTS because he broke his leg in the field.
The truth is he didn't break his leg, she simply didn't want him any more and had him shot by a slaughterman he had nothing wrong with him, she told people that I wasn't interested and didn't want him back, I would have been there in a heartbeat if I thought he was in danger.
I'm not sure what her agenda is I have no doubt she looked after him when he was alive. I also now know that Dafydd isn't the first pony to be shot for no good reason.
I can't bring Dafydd back so Zoe if you're reading this I won't be taking legal action against you for breach of contract and also I assume claiming his insurance. But if you have one ounce of decency I just want to know why ? He could have come home.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I thought I was safe, I've learnt that lesson, never ever get complacent, I will never ever loan a horse again unless I can visit them frequently, or it's someone I know and trust, life has been **** enough for us over the last few years without this.

Posted - 20 Sep 2015 : 9:14:58 PM Hello Tomos
Link to registration check on RCVS web page.
https://www.rcvs.org.uk/registration/check-the-register/
You can type in a variety of identifiers e.g. last name, etc.
However, she would have to be a registered veterinary nurse to be in this register and not all who are titled in practices as a veterinary nurse are qualified nurses and therefore registered. |
