Just to inform everyone that AV Montoya (WH Justice x Metelica 8) is going on lease with Erik and Josje Dorssers in Holland.

Montoya has a couple of mares to cover here first, then he will be in Holland we hope by April.

Anyone interested in using him please contact Bluebell Arabians direct rather than ourselves.

I hope you will cheer for him when he gets to the shows with Erik, remember Montoya is British Bred.

Both John and myself hope Montoya will get some lovely mares visit him out there, giving us a much needed rest!

We have so much faith in this horse, his children that will hit the show ring this year are sure to impress everyone! They get better and better the older they grow, we hope all of you who have one of his babies will cherish them greatly. Montoya we believe will go down as one of our great sires.

Good luck Erik and Josje.

Good luck to all involved. Not an easy decision for Sue & John I'm sure but it is a fantastic opportunity to get some great mares of different bloodlines.

Although I missed him terrribly Ffatal had such fun on his overseas adventure and 2 years soon passes by. You'll get such satisfaction seeing the overseas babies and then getting some great overseas results :)

Oh, and when all of your Monty babies are being shown this year, please let us know the results !!
Any good pictures will be used in promotion adds (with your permission ofcourse !)
Thanks guys !!

As Sue said earlier, I'm on the hunt for pictures of Monty's babies, so if any of you like to share some....?
Please send them to info@bluebellarabians.com

Wow! and Congratulations!! Wonderful news and as you say he's British bred.
jaj Posted - 21 Feb 2010 : 9:45:17 PM

Really looking forward to see Montoya taking over the continent bless him ! What a gorgeous boy ~ he deserves to see a bit of the world and leave some top class babies behind. Do hope that he comes home eventually so that we can see him here in the flesh once more .

Sue, that is fantastic news - a great opportunity for Monty to become even more successful

I'm sure you will miss him like mad, it must have been a hard decision to make - but what you choose to do with your stallion is entirely up to you, nobody else, amd you deserve to take things easier !

Bravo - it will be great fun watching Monty's progress over the next couple of years, flying the flag for Britain
alistair leslie Posted - 21 Feb 2010 : 4:42:44 PM

He is a class act who will make some news!
Loisrose Posted - 21 Feb 2010 : 2:36:03 PM
Good luck to Montoya, one of my favourite UK stallions and I can't wait to see him out at shows!
Sundance Posted - 21 Feb 2010 : 12:40:47 PM

Congrats Sue it will be a great opportunity for Av Montoya to expand his portfolio of mares and perhaps become an International sire, and I don't blame you for not wanting to stand stallions and have visiting mares. I remember seeing him as a foal at AV open day when you bought him and have followed his career with interest, his stock are stunning and a real credit to your vision for this stallion.

Pat - what is Izzie saying to these stallions? Love Ava she is stunning and look forward to seeing Izzie's Monotya baby on the new arrivals section!

As for those who criticise your decision Sue its not really any of their business, the Arab breeding industry in the UK is still very challenging for most studs and as you say he is still available by frozen semen, so not sure what the problem is.

All the best,

Paul

I would say you can have a taste of what retirement might be like but i think dear little ingrid will still be keeping you both on your toes. It may be sad that he is going for a little while but he has already left such a legacy here in the uk,and we will be at malvern sheering you all on again.
pathannay Posted - 21 Feb 2010 : 11:35:41 AM
Sue, what do you mean 'when SHE arrives'!!! this could be my first colt!!!

Nobody should aim any criticism at you and John - it is YOUR decision to do what is best for Monty and for you and John - period!!!! I know you will be sad not to have him at home - but won't it be fun visiting him abroad to watch his success??!!!!!

Hi Sue
I know that you and John have not taken this decision lightly and that you love Montoya with all your hearts, anyone who knows you will already realise that this is probably one of the most diffucult decisions you have had to make.
We are all sad to see Montoya leave but you have to do what is best for you and John, I for one understand why you have done this and hope you dont take other peoples comments to heart.
His offspirng will do you him proud this year.
Good luck to Bluebell Arabians, Eric and Josje will do a fabulous job promoting him.
Love and Hugs
Anne

I have had some calls that maybe criticize me for letting Monty go on lease, but please consider, poor old John is crippled with Arthritis, I have a crushed disc in my neck and now am one inch shorter!! we are getting too old to be standing stallions at stud anymore.

Bluebell is the only place I would let Montoya go to, even if he remained there indefinitely it would be no problem to any of us here, he can still be used via transported semen, something that we will do this year on our two mares.

Good luck with your baby Pat, please phone me the second she arrives

pathannay Posted - 21 Feb 2010 : 10:46:54 AM
What is it with stallions I use - they cover Izzie then hightail it out of the country before the foals are born!!!!! But at least Monty is not going far and will come home eventually not like Vervaldee!!

Seriously, Sue, that is fantastic news - Monty deserves to be up there with the big names and it will be exciting watching his successes for all of us!!!! His babies can still promote him over here - I will be looking forward to seeing the chestnut girl at Malvern and hope to have my 'black girl/boy Monty baby' there too - at least I know now that it won't be chestnut!!!!!! Can't wait till April to see!!!

Hi everybody !! We are VERY exited about Monty coming to us on lease ! We had him here for a short time last year, and both Erik and I just simply fell in love with him and were very sad to see him go home after Aachen. So we are very greatful to Sue and John for giving us the exiting opportunity to lease Monty for the next two years. We will promote him, show him, and stand him at public stud, and will let the world know what a wonderful stallion he really is !
Ofcourse you guys in the UK can still breed to him ! We will have him frozen as soon as he's here, and we can provide you all with frozen or chilled semen. Just contact us for details ! Our emailaddress is info@bluebellarabians.com
We count on you all to support Monty at the shows, let his fanclub cheer him on !!

SueB Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 10:06:51 PM

That's great news Amy. If you have any lovely photos of your filly I'm sure Josje at Bluebell would love to see them. She is on the hunt for Monty baby photos now
ps.
I love your filly's name.
amy_southworth Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 9:41:38 PM

Thats fantastic news Sue.... I wish him all the best with both his International show and breeding career!!! I'm sure he will continue to produce amazing results!!
Don't forget to watch out for our own Monty Yearling filly also... Gracious Wings, to say that we are over the moon with how she is developing is an understatement Sue, but hopefully she will speak for herself this year!!

(A bayish colour at the moment depsite her grey dam, however I have a running bet that she will eventually turn grey... we'll see lol)

SueB Posted - 20 Feb 2010 : 9:23:26 PM

Oh no, I forgot Marilyn never mind you will get lots of photos of all his children this year at the shows.
Watch out for a very special chestnut filly at Malvern
