I slept very badly last night thinking about poor Cecil
Appreciate that the person (not sure he deserves to be classified as a human) did nothing illegal but some things are just plain wrong.
I hope this man feels deeply ashamed and is castigated by his peers for killing this poor lion. In fact I hope he loses everything and suffers for the rest of his life

Posted - 01 Aug 2015 : 8:00:15 PM Amardillos eat insects and sleep 16hrs a day so no real threat. Shame that chap wasn't out hunting the dentist who I doubt sleeps at all now. |

Posted - 01 Aug 2015 : 7:44:28 PM Just seen on news - man shot an armadillo 3 times; bullet ricocheted and shot him in the head! No sign of armadillo! |

Posted - 01 Aug 2015 : 12:25:22 AM Trophy hunting is nothing but an ego and power trip. It makes me sick. Trophy hunting has gone on for years and Im glad it has been highlighted to the world. What sticks in my throat though is this guy with his huge ego will never understand what he has done wrong. He probably regrets killing this particular lion but will see anything wrong with killing these types of animals in general. |

Posted - 31 Jul 2015 : 09:46:36 AM Judging by the news today there is to be an inquiry in the U.S. amid strong public opinion for extradition to face the consequences with his cohorts. They have to find him first however good to know the hunter is experiencing being the hunted. |

Posted - 31 Jul 2015 : 09:18:52 AM I'm very upset to think it took 40 hours, I didn't know. I'm signing every petition I can get my hands on and writing letters, which have to get a reply. |

Posted - 30 Jul 2015 : 8:38:48 PM I sincerely hope that this man's dental practice is ruined, depriving him of the funds to pursue his disgusting 'hobby', and that he is shunned for the rest of his life. Given the poverty of the countries which are the natural environment of the defenceless animals which are the trophies of this appalling trade, it is perhaps too much to hope that the worldwide condemnation will put a stop to others who get their kicks from destroying magnificent animals, but one can hope. The fact that his apology centres around the premise that he is sorry that his 'trophy' turned out to be a much loved animal celebrity is disgusting. He is nothing more than a poacher, and an unskilled one at that, given that the poor animal suffered for 40 hours before it was killed - just because he got his kicks from using a bow and arrow, to fulfil his own sick fantasies. |

Posted - 30 Jul 2015 : 3:54:42 PM Truly awful. I am all for shooting wild animals - with a good camera - there are some truly incredible photos out there on the media for us all to enjoy.

Posted - 29 Jul 2015 : 8:26:38 PM Garnet we agree again. What chance do animals have in "poor countries " that put even less value on human life especially where girls and women are sold for much less than it costs to go game killing. I wish our government would refuse all monetary aid to any country that doesn't get its animal and human rights in line with what a civilised society expects.

Posted - 29 Jul 2015 : 7:48:16 PM I could go for 'canned hunting' of murderers, rapists and paedophiles though... |

Posted - 29 Jul 2015 : 7:45:45 PM How sad that people with so much money to spare can't find anything better to do with it. I hope he feels proud now the whole world knows he is a complete ****. On the radio they were saying that this 'hunting' brings a big income to poor countries. Get a grip and do something useful you morons! |

Posted - 29 Jul 2015 : 7:06:03 PM The guy is a trophy hunter. He did it before with a lot more animals.
I really don't get what's there to brag about when taking a life and one of a magnificent, irreplaceable animal.

Posted - 29 Jul 2015 : 7:00:57 PM 32k??? Too much money and no morals or sense! What an idiot! Poor poor Cecil...40 hours to die is 40 hours too long. |

Posted - 29 Jul 2015 : 6:57:34 PM Funnily enough, and I use the words ironically, it is on the ITV news at the moment. The only good thing that can come out of this is that 'canned' hunting is shamed world wide, and the cowardly bar stewards who do this will be named. I just bang my head and think how can someone get gratification out of this. |

Posted - 29 Jul 2015 : 6:37:28 PM Well i hope the b*****d that did this and we know who he is meets the same fate, sorry but i feel really strongly about this, he knew what he was doing total scum, hope Karma catches up with him very quickly. |

Posted - 29 Jul 2015 : 6:27:17 PM Three people to blame for killing Cecil. The landowner and hunter are rightly facing prison of up to 15 years however without the rich American dentist who paid £32k for his own bloodthirsty entertainment Cecil would still be alive. Shame on them all for greed and wanting to kill a beautiful animal. I just hope that Cecil's fame bringing the tropy hunting business into the world spotlight means his death won't be in vain and the horrendous trade is stopped. If people who pay can get permits to kill then it should be stopped. |

Posted - 29 Jul 2015 : 3:22:40 PM I agree with you Cinders but also cannot condone killing like this of any wild animal. Anyone who goes out on this sort of hunting trip should feel ashamed of themselves. Use a camera. |

Posted - 29 Jul 2015 : 3:22:09 PM Totally agree Cinders. I hope in time he comes to regret his actions as from listening to various news reports he no longer has a career in his home town. We can only pray for a lesson learned, unfortunately at Cecil's cost, but I doubt it! |
