June Craig took the Open Showmanship class with her 6-year-old gelding Nadejnico. In second was David Whittard's Comanche Deuce.

Nadejnico

The first two places in the Novice Horse Pleasure went to exhibitors who had been here the previous year with Evelyn Dash's red and white mare, Ice'N'Fire heading Bev Parker's Ross Marrakech. In third was a new combination, Linda Hayes with her 13-year-old gelding Millais, a purebred bred by Michael Harris. Linda moved up to head the Novice Horsemanship, with seasoned all-round competitors Clare Wilson and Nuriznaya and Betsy Borthwick's Benjamin Hotpants in second and third place. These three then changed the placings in the Western Riding with Clare in the lead followed by Betsy and Linda.

Ross Marrakech

Bev Parker's young horse Ross Marrakech moved up to win the Amateur Pleasure. The runner-up was Benjamin Hotpants who also took the Preliminary Western Riding, and earned Betsy the Novice Hi-Point award. The reserve Novice was Kay Curtis's Nuriznaya.

Ice'N'Fire

Evelyn Dash and Ic'N'Fire made it a hat-trick by adding the Open Pleasure and Novice trail to their collection and so being assured of the National Hi-Point Western title. June Craig's Nadejnico took the reserve High Point award.
