AMATEUR POINTS CHAMPIONSHIP

The Amateur points Championship is open to all amateur owned, ridden and produced horses and ponies who have the current year’s Cherif Championship qualifying card
.

The horse or pony concerned must not have been either in a professional yard, or ridden by a professional since October 2009. Owners, riders or producers standing a stallion at public stud or running a livery yard are considered professional.
Any person exhibiting a horse or pony, which is sponsored by, or named in connection with a Company or product that is owned by the exhibitor, producer or rider, is considered professional. Professional is also deemed to include any person who employs, or is employed full or part time, and produces or assists in producing any horse or pony in the employer’s ownership. The Committee’s decision in these regards is final.

Points will be awarded in Cherif qualifying classes only, and will go down to 4th place. All show marked on the shows list will have +2 points added.

Exhibitors must qualify, enter and exhibit at the Cherif final for points to count.

Six shows only can be nominated by the exhibitor, and these points will be carried forward to the final where additional points will be awarded. At the final, 2 points will be awarded for each of the Dressage and Concours D’Elegance classes exhibited in, and placings in these classes only, will be added to the total points score.

At the final, rosettes are awarded to 8th place. Prize money is dependent on the amount of exhibitors who purchase a card.
